Because many people seem to behind in the loop (or we're all just being kept in the dark by those who know more) it might be a good idea to just wait on the next announcement detailing what is ACTUALLY going to be in the next update...rather than make wild speculation and cast blame on random people for things that are perceived as being taken out/changed/not added. Firstly this might stop Mojang and Jeb in particular feeling like we don't appreciate everything they've done thus far, and secondly, it might stop this forum community from resembling other communities renowned for their retarded members.

If emeralds are "only currency" then what is pictured at the top of this thread?
"I am gonna remove the emerald ore, but I am going to add blocks you build with emerald ore... Oh and remember, emeralds are just currency!"
(That's where the confusion comes from...confusing statements.)
About the enderchests, if everybody on the server has a chest, does that mean everybody on the server can access items that are placed in any one chest, from their own chest?

Perhaps people need to "annoy" Jeb into fixing some of the bugs that have been with us forever. Didn't realize he was so sensitive.
Trading will only be useful to me if I can buy gold or powered track. Everything else is easy to obtain on its own (except diamonds, which you don't really need much of). Right now, diamond pickaxes are the only thing I would bother trading for. But I'd let the testificates ravage my the lower pixels of my skin if only it meant a little more gold. Or better yet, make the powered rail recipe output 16 instead of 6 rail.

Emerald is not rare. Every villager has it. Just sell something to them.
And I really hope they will reverse their decision, and keep the ore. With it being rare, which is perfect, and indeed a "nice find", the mining would have become a little more varied and exciting.
I'd actually find emerald ore more interesting than emerald blocks due to that reason. If I could choose between ores or blocks I'd choose the ore.
But obviously having both is the obvious choise that takes the game to the highest awesomeness level.
