So measuring your E-Weinie is so important that allowing people to build larger and more intricate structures easier than normal is not allowed? It effects leaderboards, not people- it's not like a glitch where you become unkillable in a game, it's not like that glitch in ACR that let's you teleport twice in a matter of seconds. It doesn't break the game, it doesn't hinder any enjoyment of the game besides measuring your E-wienie.
I build my personal world legit and it's hard/tedious work at times, if some people want to make it easier on themselves I don't see why they shouldn't be able to. Just remove the leaderboards TADA!
I don't care about the leaderboards at all. I think they are pointless in a game like Minecraft.
However, there are some people out there who do enjoy them a lot. For them, it's a fun way to compete with others on a game that isn't necessarily competitive in nature. I could care less if people want to build larger more intricate structures, but exploiting a glitch is still cheating. Not to mention that the duping glitch is a way to cheat to get achievements, which doesn't sit well with Microsoft. People knew it was a glitch, exploited it, and are now whining that it's being fixed.
People who like the dupe glitch can just wait for Creative Mode.
shouldnt get rid of duplication glitch untill they add creative mode ..right now its just fun building a giant world with your friends so infinite items are nessesary..also werent they supposed to add pistons?
There is another bug I hope that they fix soon in the Xbox version, the furnace cart! You can't put coal in the furnace so no power can be gotten. I have a crap computer so I have to settle for the xbox version., so don't let me down! I can't wait to have some new textures though. There are some amazing ones out there and I hope that we are luck enough to get them. I just hope they won't be too expensive. I also wonder will it be possible to have the large worlds in the xbox version as the pc version does. It may be possible, but will the xbox be able to handle it? Anyways I am just rambling on and on here. I have a palace to build and sitting here just talking about it won't get it made.
To get the furnace cart working you need to have coal in your main bar and when you look at the furnace cart you can "use" and it places coal into the cart and off she goes.

Until we have Creative Mode, there is no way to just build without mining and smelting and crafting. I TOTALLY get that IS the point of the game, hence the NAME MineCraft, but we all know the game has taken on several "lives" outside of just being about mining and crafting.
I mean, there are GIGANTIC, functioning calculators and computers out there. I DOUBT that was ever a purpose Notch & Co. even thought possible when the game was in its infancy.
Sure, it's a GLITCH, but until Creative Mode is an option, it should be kept for those of us who want to just build.

Which achievements can be done by duplication cause I'd love to hear them? Besides on a rail which requires you to legitly place every piece.
Which parts of the leader boards besides travel by rail would be affected? None. There's travel, mining (breaking blocks), farming (which can be farmed in the first place), and combat. Besides the leaderboards have already been taken over by bots at the top with numbers in the trillions. Why not take the bots down first?
So what are mods? they aren't part of the game so people can't use them? Inventory Editors have been with minecraft for a long time, especially when there was no creative mode outside of classic. Because mods aren't available to Xbox owners I think this relatively harmless glitch can be let go until creative mode comes. To get rid of it now with no creative on the near horizon would only serve to disinterest many in the community who love building and build well on the xbox but need more materials than their map or time permit them to collect.
This glitch while exploitable is hardly what I'd call a game breaking one in need of being addressed. if creative mode were a month away I wouldn't be so adamant but because we don't know when and won't for a while I don't see why this in game method of inventory editting needs to be cut immediately. You say they can wait but waiting for how long? Build loves will drop the game, maybe not even pick it back up by the time creative comes out, many would likely move on, killing the MCX community base.
but SOME people (like me) have "bad" computers and the game lags on the computer, so they get minecraft for xbox.honestly, i don't really care for the dupe glitch to be fixed, i only want to know this: WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO UPDATE THE XBOX VERSION!? I've been waiting for SO long and no update! i used to think minecraft was fun but its getting a lot less fun because of no updates!!! i mean HONESTLY!
For people that really care about being able to duplicate, why cant you just duplicate heaps of stuff now and put it all in chests before the update hits?, just spend a couple of days duplicating now while u still can, lol.
