- yes, not obsidian but bedrock. Her cobblestone generator is still in operation so she's obviously not converted the lava sourceblock to obsidian.
The placement -- that is, the placement of everthing around it -- clearly makes artistic use of the only otherwise immobile element of the map. It's a clear sign of careful crafting and deliberate design. The whole thing is just very well done.
I have a question: How do you get seeds in that map, now that you can't till the dirt for seeds anymore? Are we supposed to just ignore the wheat farming, is it an old challenge?
I don't know how to make a spoiler box, so... close your eyes if you want to be ignorant. :tongue.gif:
1. Use Bonemeal on a grass tile to make tall grass.
2. Hit tall grass for a *chance* to make a seed.
3. Repeat as necessary.
Total WIN ! I loved it. I have been playing this map for a couple days and I had given up. I kept making STUPID MISTAKES and so I gave up not wanting to start over after the 10th time. You ma'am are an Amazing Minecrafter. I love the idea of the mob spawner. I had been trying to figure out a way to design that very thing. My last time I tried this map I ended up with 3 SAND and I was going to use them to make total of 3 cactus. But I was not paying attention and I ended up making obsidian and lost my lava. Uhgg. Anyhow, GREAT job and I hope to be as good as you some day. You my dear shall be known as a Goddess of Minecraft in my books.
By the way, I was using 1.8.1 version of minecraft for this. I will be trying to see if I can do better with 1.9. I realize that both versions change what you get in the chest as well as the map.
I thing i dont get is, how did he get the torches?

The drop spawner has a pad inside, 4x4 wide, jagged edged, with the center 4 squares cut out. There is a 3 block gap from the outer edge of the pad to the 'cap' over it.
Mobs spawn on top of the cap and inside on the platform.
If you are clever, you can steal a log from the bedroom, collect three string, make a bow, hit the mobs, and then when they fall you will get EXP orbs.
My question, is how she got the wool. That is the one material I don't understand how she acquired so much of, let alone any of.
I know animals still spawn, but it takes hours upon hours and only on grass.

I love how everything is both attractive AND useful. It's something so many creative players fail to grasp. The rooms and structures here each serve a real purpose other then just to be looked at, even if they are fully decorated.
And I'm repeating this challenge, with a twist. Once I make 8 cobble blocks, I make a furnace... and turn my lava into obsidian. The lack of durability and speed on wood tools might drive me mad though. :ohmy.gif:

Note: you can get flowers this way too.

I'm wondering the same thing. I've been trying to copy this monster drop and I can't get it to work.
Can we know what texture pack u are using? I looks sick.
