They specifically said that they wanted the money to be completely separate from everything else. So they didn't want to use gold as the money, nor do they want you to be able to make anything out of emeralds.
I await these features eagerly, this will be one of the biggest patches I've ever seen added to the game.
How has it been going with the snapshot's "singleplayer = multiplayer" functionality? I remember going on multiplayer worlds and boats, pressure plates, and minecarts in particularly acting REALLY messed up. Can't wait for that kind of horrible server lag to be brought to multiplayer.
This will likely never happen, at least without a mod. There may be some cool things you will eventually make with emeralds, something very different and fun, but Emerald tools likely won't be what you think they will be.
If there's a suitable spawn spot somewhere they can spawn if the light level is right. If I want to do serious stripmining I do it in peaceful mode if it's single player, in multiplayer you have to beware of random creeper attacks from anywhere dark enough for them to spawn.

Enchantment levels are slightly exponential again. oh man, i was having so much fun enchanting like i've never enchanted before
It now takes 825 Experience to reach level 30. awwww
Texture Packs image is displayed for folder based texture packs.
The player can now see the cracking effect on blocks when other players mine blocks in multiplayer. wonder what this is for?
Bug Fixes:
Pressing F no longer reloads chunks.
Fixed a bug when pistons pushed a wire.
NPC Villagers procreate again.
Mining a ore give now 3 times less experience orbs. it was a bug? oh man.... =(
Weathers transitions are back.
Slime and Magma Cube jumping animations have been fixed.
Armor and Tool enchantments now show on multiplayer.
The search function in the creative inventory now only activates within the search tab, meaning that the inventory key now allows you to exit the creative menu once again.
If the performance problems don't get fixed before 1.3, it will be the worst update ever. When my xp grinder is active and I have lot of mobs around, my fps drops to one tenth of what it is in 1.2.5. Check the video in my previous post.

Can't Wait for 1.3! so many New great things! Try out this Cool seed. So far I have found 1 full village and 1/3 of a village, 2 dimonds near full village, a stronghold, and a abandoned Mineshaft! Seed[1.2.6]: "2525617506084080286". Follow the River to find the villages. The stronghold is under a swamp Biome."seed[1.2.5]" I mixed that up.

Could we have a few less coca beans? I know it was ridiculous before to get them but now they are practically dime a dozen. Having them be a bit more rare could make the hunt more interesting.
Adventure mode is a great idea, but when I set up TNT and play my map in adventure mode, I end up picking up random blocks that have been blown up. Of course I cannot place these blocks anywhere, but they clutter up my inventory. A fix that does not allow you to pick up blocks you cannot place would be nice.
Tripwires are great. But the traps in the jungle temple are week compared to the desert one. Making the trap, potentially more deadly would be nice.
Desert temples are amazing but mining the blue block sets of the pressure plate before you are inside. Meaning that you do not die in the blast. It might be better to leave that block open so you fall in and then set it off.
Also, Xp for coal is not necessary. I am level thirty in a matter of minutes by mining coal.

Curse PremiumI replied to someone earlier in the thread about this. You can place slabs on the top half of a space already in 1.2.5.
Also the Tripwire's! God i can't wait for the Trip Wire's, make my life so much easier on PVP server's Hehehe...
p.s. tripwires are crafted by wooden plank bottem, stick middle, and 1 iron ingot top
