So we have a pre-existing world, one which the server host wishes to continue to use. However, we have major problems. Somewhere between the 1.7.3 and 1.8.1 updates, chunks of the world have become corrupt for players who had objects with protected status. Removing those object from the map has not altered anything; the area remains bugged for specific players. In some places, the world functions perfectly; in others, the lag goes through the roof, dropping the FPS to zero, and disabling virtually everything related to the game. This has annoyed a lot of the players who started back before the updates. This is without any addons, using only vanilla SMP settings, and this sort of thing is exactly why NOTHING else should be added until the stability issues are resolved. As with everything else, eye candy must take a back seat to performance. We have had the players re-install their JAVA, check their memory usage, test their game on other servers, and the results are the same: creative works fine; SMP does not. At first this was mildly amusing in game; it no longer is. Stop adding stupid mooshrooms and fix the fundamentals, for crying out loud.
aaaahhhh naaaw maaaan!!!!!! i couldn't run it! this kinda sucks. <_< but i still cant wait till it comes out. anyone who can tell me when it DOES come out gets a BIG hug from THIS guy!
My only problems with the adventure update, the last part included with this one, are these:
1) F fog toggle removal didn't do anything helpful in my eyes.
2) Preventing [Space] holding to jump repeatedly isn't a good idea, it seems that it will only make things slower...
3) Strongholds shouldn't be limited in a world, as only 3 to a world seems a bit too little.
4) Snow golem fall damage... that's a bit nonsensical, to be honest. If snow falls, it usually tends to break IRL.
Have they released the 1.9.2 that adds the "bunny hop" back in by holding space? Notch said on Twitter he was going to add it back in yesterday. I'm not playing any version of 1.9 until that gets added back in.
this pre-update tears my cpu's apart... they both run at 100% all of the time. Last time I checked, thats not good. I refuse to play the prerelease because I don't want minecraft to burn my computer out.
@TrampMan123: Like everything else, it's just a matter of exploring until you stumble across one. I haven't managed to find one myself yet, though I haven't been playing much lately until they get some of the big changes done. Don't want to have to keep re-seeding the world I'm in. I like my current one so I don't want to keep making new ones.
Cant get it working. After loading a new world, it crashes/freezes before visually loading the world (however my exp/health/hunger/ and item hotbar all show up. just everything else is blackscreen.)
no lag on my end and im on a craps as hell mac. Good job Mojang keep it up what i really wanna see is some new weapons, sheilds and a new relm. Pigmen and giants.
