Also, is obsidian game breaking?
I always fail to understand you "water in nether is bad!!!11" people and your weird logic.
I would agree that obsidian isn't hard to get anyway. The only thing that would be too easy with water in the nether would be crossing lava lakes. Just put down a bucket of water, turn a huge patch of the lava lake into obsidian, and keep walking. Wouldn't be much harder with ice: put the ice block on the surface, break it, it spreads and turns a huge patch of lava into obsidian.
Ghasts would be much easier to hunt too if with minimal effort you could put huge walkable platforms below them with just a few blocks of water. The Nether is already pretty safe as long as you don't attack pigmen and stay away from huge open spaces.
Even though I'd love to be able to have a water spring in my nether for potion making and not have to rely on importing buckets of water to my cauldrons.
I can see these books being used for so many things. I will now bring a book with me underground because it's that useful. Now all they need to add is to make bookshelves store these books. I hope these books can be named.
They can be named. When you hover over the book after signing it, it says the book title and author.
ARGGGG!!! Wood is now rendered useless as far as i'm concrned. I am not going to risk my large wood mansions burning down in a fire! I carefully made all my wood structures out of half slabs which is more wood intendive but worth if for the fireproof benefits. Now wood is no good to build with!
Love the books though
Dude, there are MANY MANY WAYS to guard against fire with in a wood home. For one iron bars can block fire from spreading. brick as well, even glass.
My fireplace is made of brick with glass on top and irn bars used as the grate infront of the flames. even setting a wood block right in front it remains safe and sound.
Learn to build proper fireplaces (or even lavaplaces as I like doing) and you wont have ANY issues with your homes burning down. There are MANY tutorials out there for such. Now stop spazing.
They added chat to SP... Which is odd. Who am I suppose to be talking too?
Someone mentioned the /help command being available in SP. I imagine it also helps in preparation for the thin client/world server separation, and being able to invite people into your world locally.
Some people mentioned about not being able to get lost if you can turn all lava into obsidian in the nether, but people also forget that once you start removing lava, the nether then becomes the overworld with different blocks and mobs. That's why the nether has so much lava; it's a freaking dangerous place.

Did it never occur to you that a wood block acting as stone is wrong, and that it was something that would be attended to by the game staff? And wood is hardly useless to build with. If there is no fire then there is no problem.

Oh wait! There is!
Thanks. Pretty direct to the point. Good summary.

Just replace the damn blocks with a different type.
Otherwise, Great work Mojang, another awesome snapshot. Really looking forward to books in my server.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!
Oh, and on a side note, I am very anticipating Minecraft 1.3, it seems like a very big update.

Otherwise, HAHAHAHAHA YESSSSSS!
I say; What is science, but magic that has been explained?
