I can see these books being used for so many things. I will now bring a book with me underground because it's that useful. Now all they need to add is to make bookshelves store these books. I hope these books can be named.
I've found a bug. When you place an upside-down half slab of any of the other colors of wood (oak-wood slabs, birch-wood slabs, etc) it turns them into normal oak-wood slabs.
*Face palm* I've been reading all those pages, then you come with the stupid answer everyone else have written before you...
As I said - "Well don't know if anyone else has found out how to craft editable book yet" ....

I very much enjoy the new books. Now I can keep notes when I'm out exploring, and write coords down for places I want to visit again. I also agree that bookshelves should function like chests, and hold like, 12 books or so. This came just in time with the library I just built, and I got to build it without farming all that leather! ^^
I bet the censored thing is the addition of blueberries as a new food idem. In the book it said "blueberry gardens", so maybe villages will spawn with a blueberry garden as well wheat farms. That would be amazing because it add an unique to villages encouraging players to find them.
Also, in the book it mentions bears and burrow. Now I doubt if this was added to the game, it'll probably be for a later update. How I think it could work would be that burrows would spawn in rarely in certain bios, like dungeons, and contain a chest with fish or something bear related.
Breaking Ice in The Nether no longer produces water
OHHH, Vechs is going to be mad if this is true.
I hope they change it back. I mean, what was wrong with using hard-to-get enchant for even more hard-to-do-things? Water in the Nether via ice-block didn't sound a weird thing. Only thing that should be changed in code is:
if (biome == hell && block == water)
{
water_max_spread = 4; //or what ever the lava spread is in overworld..
if (light_level >= 11)
water_evaporate();
}
if (biome == hell && block == ice && light_level >= 9)
ice_melt();
Edit: and by saying "change it back" I mean only that water no longer in the Nether thingy, not that you are able to mine ice with enchanted pickaxe. -.-
This. Really, the biggest reason we used Ice in the nether was to put water here. It's useless now.
