I agree completely, also make fishing more realistic and add more fish so that a fisherman is a respectable occupation in minecraft. (Make it like Wicked Tuna)

what about stairs you made the colored slabs why not stairs and fences?
I just hope they will make them also, its pretty annoying that the stairs and fences are the same color. But something tells me maybe it will not be on the 1.3 because they want to get more content for another update later, they want people to be waiting for their updates also...
Come on you guys.. Changing the block type to wood won't stop you from building wooden fireplaces, Fire can't spread on half blocks, period. The only change is that wooden slabs are now reclaimed with an axe instead of pickaxe. Yes, double wooden slab blocks are still safe from fire too.
yes it will try using flint & steel on a half block and wait 1 min it will burn down

On his twitter, jeb_ said "Sorry but I don't plan to add that" in response to the question of why stairs weren't added in the new woods.
I can see how the editable books would be helpful for map makers, but it means nothing to me when I can't design things (i.e. roofs) properly without stairs in the corresponding colors.
Too bad the books are done half-assed also. Anyone looking forward to having to delete/re-write 20 pages of text to edit a typo?
