I love the Book feature! Only problem I have with it is, the book is centered in Window mode, but in Fullscreen the book seems to stay at the top of the screen. Large gap at the bottom. It should stay centered regardless of the Window size. Other than that, it's really great! Can't wait for the next update ~ !
One suggestion I might add is having different colored books, instead of just only brown.(Don't know if someone else has said this already, but it's been said.)
Oh yes, Books! Finally, no more mods for writable books that should've been there in the first place. But, I wonder, will the bookcases be able to hold these writable books? If not, then that would be a shame... Please, Mojang, don't skimp out on this!

No, I don't know why you would want to as the newest snapshot is an upgrade from the last one... so it has the changes from it

I hope you guys soon make every wooden craft item colorized. Like stairs and ladders etc.
I really hope you guys add individual names for the different types of wood as well, instead of all of them just having the same name and different colors. (jungle, birch, pine)

That's just the block name used for Silverfish hiding in blocks within the stronghold. If you give yourself 97 (the block's ID), the tooltip will say Stone Monster Egg to signify that it's basically a stone block with a monster (Silverfish) inside.
What happened to having minecraft fun? recntly there has been no excitement in the new updates, it will start to get old if it stays basically the same, most of my friends have already become sick of it...
Yes, there might be more subscribers, but surfing among the minecraft sites i can see the people leaving / dissapearing from the sites.
This has probably been said, but i'm going to say it myself, the wiki also has this for the changelog for 12w17a.
To all those complaining about how their awesome wooden house is going to burn down because the wooden halfslabs were changed from stone to wood...
According to the wiki, the change ONLY affects newly crafted wooden halfslabs, all existing ones that you place down or dig up will continue to be classified as stone.
So all i can say is, if you really hate that change, then stock up on the old type from before this snapshot, and stock up big, like, a couple of hundred double chests full of them should do it.
I for one on the other hand, prefer this change to the wooden halfslabs.
Hmm, I'm surprised so many people are excited over this snap. Yes, books are useful, but they're not really adding anything that can't already be done.
How about some more *new* features ?
Sorry, but I can't get excited over typing in a book when there are so many better ideas for features floating around.
You do realise it is a snapshot, right??? nobody says you have to use it, they are mostly using it for ironing out bugs and implementing small changes each week, the idea is for people to use it and relay back any issues/bugs they come across.
Bigger changes will probably come further along, there is only so much you can do in a week.
Anyone else run into an issue where a tool "breaks" but when you go to put a new one in its place in your hotbar, it reappears? I've got a pickaxe that dies after one hit, but then reappears under my cursor in its "one hit left" state when I drop a new pickaxe in the slot the old one was in.
The fact that you can walk through chickens without getting pushed around is VEY NICE. Makes farming them in a tight space a lot easier.
It seems like rare mob drops have been eliminated, or at least made a LOT more rare. I haven't gotten a single helmet, shovel, iron ingot or sword from my Zombie XP farm since installing the update.
