travoling can get tirering and can calse people to get in a bad mood and thay had just came back from a game convinchen in the usa any way and comeing to the usa can get to peoples heads some times
I never even watched a yogscast video till about a week ago. I've been playing minecraft since the pre-beta sale. Watching Coestar is what convinced me to invest in the beta in the first place.
And if it wasn't for them, minecraft would be lucky to have a million sales. Dont let the door hit you on the way out. :smile.gif:
I can tell you that they are not the ones that gave Minecraft millions of sales. There are plenty of other Youtubers that have done the same thing, either before or after the Yogscast started playing Minecraft. "millions" is beyond what I think they have done, and I will continue to think this way until I see otherwise (proof).
I highly doubt that Minecraft wouldn't be as big if Yogscast weren't around. As I said before, there are plenty of other famous Youtubers that have been just as or maybe even more successful than the Yogscast. Minecraft was very successful before the Yogscast started playing it anyway.
The "Yogscast" includes a lot of people, not just Simon and Lewis. I'm a fan, but I have to say, I find Notch more credible than them. The fact that the Yogscast makes ANY money off Minecraft at all isn't quite right, and they're lucky Notch is nice enough not to sue them. I'm thinking this also may be a culture-clash at work, as in Sweden good manners are very important. In the UK, like another poster said, the word "****" is thrown around constantly and there's a different idea of what is and isn't socially acceptable. Then again, I'm Norwegian so what do I know. :X

uhh, chances are they didn't actually increase sales that much. the majority of the people who watch them have already bought minecraft or decided to pirate it instead. Other people have done more for the minecraft community.
Also, I have to point out that with the whole bethesda thing, the post on his tumblr attacking a graphics company, and now this, it really seems like Notch is trying to start ****. I really hope not, but I'm leaning towards that conclusion.

English humor is different. It's a lot sharper, so, the Yogscast team were probably joking when they said those things. Maybe that's what Notch was misunderstanding? I hope so, since the Yogscast Team helped increase MineCraft's popularity by a lot... annnd they have so many fans. There would be a lot of raging if Notch banned them or something. I hope they sort this out soon!
Without publicity, minecraft wouldn't be so successful today. It is really through the collective effort from game reviewers that put the game to where it is today. It is true that yogscast may not have contributed that much to the success of minecraft but they were indeed a part of it. Millions of people watch their videos and are you going to say no one got interested in the game because of their videos? You can't deny that they indeed brought in a big bunch of players to the game. Unless you're saying tens or hundred thousands of people are considered nothing?
I'm not really sure where to stand on this. I mean like the topic said they seemed freindly in the interview. Maybe Notch misunderstood someting or vis versa? But what did they get banned on? Minecon itself?
I've watched about 3 of their videos, I laughed like once or twice lol. I thought they weren't good at all. Seananners' videos will never be beaten by them
