Personally, I like both parties. While I don't check Notch's twitter everyday, I like to check now and again and see how production and see some funny things he says. And while I am a Yognaut, I don't immediately react like a 8 year old and throw a tantrum about every argument amongst famous people. I refuse to take a side until the Yogscast puts up what happened or until I can read into this more, but honestly, does it really matter that famous people are still human? If anything, the fact that so many people enjoy what both teams have done would make it more understandably on why they are so mad. With all the fame, both have a small case of inflated ego syndrome. To me, it seems that they're both overreacting, and need to cool down. Hopefully the fanboys can calm down too.

I was told I could be whatever I wanted when I grew up, so I became a god.
Since when did mods sell minecraft. No modder/modding group is responsible for the widespread popularity and achievement of minecraft; in my eyes, it's acceptable to say that they are part of the reason why people continue to play, but is definitely not why they started, or bought the game. Besides, Yogscast wouldn't have started without Mojang. I don't believe they (or anyone outside of Mojang) could possibly be armed with how the Mojang team (and specifically Notch) runs the company.
Except for the claim that Yogscast said that they are a major reason why Minecraft sold so well, we will have to wait for the Yogscast side of things. Their words could take back the first paragraph of this post, if and only if they explain themselves well enough. If they can explain themselves, this should go smoothly, or put Mojang in the wrong. If they respond badly, they're doomed in this argument.

GENERATION 22: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation
I really hope this is trolling and they reveal it soon. Of course if it is trolling, I bet Notch will be telling us that, for the next version of Minceraft to run properly, we need to delete system32 :/ But, seriously, I do hope this is all a misunderstanding. If not, it will severely and negatively affect both parties, which, as I am a fan of the Yogscast and support Notch, I do not want to happen.
don't care either way but the claim that minecraft got where it is because of yogscast is laughable. As I recall I gave my money to mojang not yogs. Never even heard of them til I had been playing minecraft for a while.
Wow yeah screw that they're unsubbed, sorry for the kids exposed and sorry for notch, I'd hope I speak for the majority of Minecraft fans when I say [email protected]#$ them.
I'm waiting for Yogscast's side because it sounds like a misunderstanding of some sort. Either something was taken out of context, or something was expected by either side and there was little to no communication. It's a shame but it happens.
What I find slightly odd is that we have a man who jokes about one of his interviewers' mothers like he did, about other "adult" topics (that ironically he posted on his own blog from what I'm gathering? Yeah, reaaaaal classy, man.) and then has a fit about this.
If you don't think kids should hear things like the f-bomb, I might be going on a limb here, but maaaaaaaaybe you shouldn't discuss the adult things you did with the yogscast in your interview. Just sayin'. That alone seems a bit hypocritical. And as a mother, I think I'd rather my child heard the f-bomb than the "Your Mother" style jokes in the interview. As much as I wouldn't want anyone to say it to my child either, I'd much rather they be told to eff off than hear that kind of thing, too.
And last but not least, assuming some bad stuff did actually go down, wow, Notch, again a way to be classy. There are far more professional ways to handle this. But then again, he's shown he's the type to go off on twitter half-cocked (afterall, if I remember correctly he posted a bunch of legal documentation before redacting names like he should have).
I can only hope that yogscast will be a bit more tactful with their response, but from the sounds of it, it looks like it might end up being them blasting back at him. Shame, really.
I really find it odd though that he could go so quickly from "This is the best interview I've had" to what we are seeing now on his twitterfeed. This stinks of something else that may have been moldering between the two parties but just wasn't bad enough until this came to a head.
My guess is that both parties probably erred in some manner, but that whatever it was, it did not warrant the kind of behavior that is going on (and appears *will* occur).
Ok, first of all everyone, this is none of our business. This cannot be change by a few words of taking sides or talking trash about each other. I think Notch is over reacting just a tad, and also he needs to sit down and talk to Yogscast again. I'm not saying Yogscast didn't do these things, but it might not be 100% true. Yes, Yogscast might have said some things they shouldn't have said, but Notch should act his age and not spread gossip all over the world. Nether of the parties should act this way.
Notch is making a war with Yogscast right now that will become worse and worse until its an all out war zone. Friends will choose sides and then fight each other ,and Notch tweeting about it won't help anyone, even you. Finally, people if you want to choose sides fine do it, but don't ruin yourselves over one stupid fight. :dry.gif:
So come on everyone stop the fight, or jump into it and find yourself not coming out.
Also this could have just could have been a misunderstanding in their communication. Remember Notch is from Sweden and the Yogscast is from Britan.
Since Notch would really have no reason to lie about this, or create this kind of drama, I tend to believe his side of the story.
If true, these guys really need to get over themselves. They're everything that's wrong with YouTube today - entitled, big-headed man-children that only care about money and nothing else.
I used to enjoy their miniature golf "Yog-golf" videos too. This is just a shame. Notch may apologize, but there's a reason why I think he would blow up so much. These guys just ruined their own reputation overnight.
No! Notch and Yogscast FIGHTING!? *gasp* What is happening to this minecraft community!?
Why have we all become plenty of raging stress addicts!? Why did we all play minecraft to begin with? We wanted a game that would be fun and stress less. Now it's just filled with hate! Starting with griefers and haiters. I miss the old days of just going out and about playing for fun. Now it's a constant claim war! I don't think I can respect either side as much as I used to anymore. :"(
If Yogscast did do these things, I kinda wouldn't be surprised. I started suspecting douchebaggery the minute I saw the article that says they credit themselves with Minecraft's success.
I really hope this is a misunderstanding...cuz if it wasn't, then I would never here another "oooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!" from Simon. and that would suck.
It's the game that makes it good, not the people who make videos about it. People don't find Minecraft because of the yogscast, People may hear about Minecraft then when they look it up they see them, but that's different. I'm not saying the yogscast aren't good commentators, but asking for special treatment because they have a couple thousand fanboys is outrageous. If this is true, yogscast just lost a viewer and there are probably many others who agree.

MINECRAFT WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT YOGCAST
Funny...I found about Minecraft from The Escapist and Joystiq instead of being a ravenous fanboi of some efamous youtube people....
But hey...I guess Notch just piggybacked his way on Yogcast...or so would say their fanboys..
