Check it out. Yogscast signing at MineCon. And wow how horrible they were. I mean did you see that kid's face after he got their signatures. WOW. And the way they treated him..
/sarcasm
Obviously that's not the kid Notch was talking about. Derp.
d: It's fun to say when I suddenly like random people.
Absolutely agreed my good friend. I don't talk to resisting people, as it is useless to even make them look at the facts. They make up things and make them look like facts so that the side they're going for makes it look better for them, then it spreads around to this time right now where people are calling each side names and what not.
In other words, useless nonsense. Thank god for that, otherwise I would no longer be entertained!
Its kind of a shame that its degrading to pointless insults and finger pointing. IT was fun when we still had something to poke the bear with. Now all thats left from the original topic seems to be about them supposedly swearing at the kid. I dont know about any other Americans in here, but I heard ten times worse than that just on my schoolbus in the morning on my way to school, back when I was in kindergarten. I hear it so often now that I dont even respond to it. It surprises me that anyone actually did.
It just doesn't sound like something the Yogscast would do.. Dx I love them! Dx
HEh, I dunno. Simon seems the kind of person to secretly plan on trolling the world and talking with Notch to get it done. I dont think thats the case, but it does seem like something he would do.

I didn't know the 'F' word until 3rd grade. :3 It is pretty pointless to keep swear words (why are there such things as swear words anyways?) from kids, though I suppose people have been saying that this Minecon was 'family friendly', and I know how that goes. I've seen even the Creatures (aka SlyFox, SSoHPKC, Kootra, etc) cussing while at the Minecon, so I don't know if that was just an add on while Notch was trying to make his point or what.
I feel like it's really stupid that a lot of people are taking sides. You have the Notch fans that go:
"Yogscast are jerks they obviously did something bad, they make stupid racist jokes and are immature pompous Englishers."
And on the other side you have the Yogscast fans going:
"Notch is a lying hatted pig. He made all those things up and he HATES YOGSCAST without YOGSCAST Minecraft would never be this big."
In the end I hear hearsay, we should be objective and wait for the response. Then way the evidence. In the end we may never solve this. But I won't hate either Notch or Yogscast no matter the outcome.
BTW I do love Yogscast and Notch. I bought Minecraft because it was fun, and I watch Yogscast because I enjoy it.

I myself have never been to a convention of any kind, but something tells me that when a wide age group comes together, kids hearing swearing isnt exactly hard to imagine happening. I fail to see why we need to hide swear words from kids. Theyre just words used in exclamation of pain or anger or something like that. What damage is done when they hear them or use them? Apart from parents freaking out, theres no harm done.
Oh, but I'm afraid the fanboy war has only just begun...
God.. okay, well.. uhm yeah..
Is it alright if I just go back to playing Minecraft? I mean, like Owen Lars, I'd really just like to get back to my farm. Those units in the south range won't repair themselves.

What they know about the word and how they use them is on them and the parents. Still today there are a large group of people whom hate the idea of children knowing such terms and will take offense to anyone using them nearby their children, and that's where I could see Notch being a bit upset or even embarrassed about it. Keeping things family friendly is insanely hard, in fact so insane that even I wouldn't attempt it, lol. I would put an age limit for Minecons, however then I'd get flamed because kids would roll around on the floor screaming about it, and no one wants to deal with that.
It's bad on Notch's end for both sides on this, if he goes one way he has to deal with children around adults (whether mature or immature), the other way he has to deal with screaming and upset children.
Derp. im on notches side with this. No one should ever F-Bomb a child. And dear yogscast: Dont chew off mojang about not knowing how to run a company. Your only famous because of that. AND THEY'RE MORE POPULAR THAN YOU! What im saying is, Yogscast, don't feel bad that black people like notch more than you.

Honestly I think that the best thing to do is tell them to bring children at their own risk, like all conventions do. that way when a child hears something that the parent doesnt want them to, when the parent complains, Notch can just say "We told you bring them at your own risk. We take no responsibility for what they heard" Seems the easiest way to go about doing it, doesnt it?

Or is that just me?
It seems much easier, 'cause then it would be the parent's fault if they had trouble with the idea of their children hearing some nasty words. And you know, the more I think about it, I'm sure that if a parent were really that careful about it, they would have considered that they definitely would not be the only adult around and would have had second thoughts.
Telling people something like that would definitely fix the situation, though, but sadly that's only one of many that Notch has stated about the Yogscast.
Youll notice that I made a point of saying "If this is true". Yanked around may not, and likely does not, imply the panel time. If you thought into it you would realize that there are a great many other things that have to be done when at a convention, not just a panel.
In terms of money, perhaps I was being a little too emphatic over being forced, but if you read the entire post and didnt simply stop at the first thing you could argue with, you would have seen just how much it must have cost them. Only two tickets were free, IF they got a booth. 8 people went. IF they didnt have a booth, then it was 800 dollars. If they DID have a booth, then it would have been around 1600. Now think about how much room and board was. The cheapest hotels in Vegas are not exactly cheap. I dont know where they stayed, but when my father stayed there for three nights in a cheap hotel, it cost him 200 dollars a night. So, if there were 8 people for three days, thats yes another 4800 dollars. Also, think of the plane tickets as well. I flew from my current state back to my home state, and it took me 200 dollars, three months in advance. Depending on when they bought their tickets, thats another 1600, or more.
So, right off the bat, they could have paid anything from between 7400 dollars to 8000 dollars, and thats going on the low side. Thats a lot of money to spend just to have yourself yanked around by a woman who doesnt know what shes doing, and to be forced by IGN to not actually discuss minecraft on video, under what I assume was risk of lawsuit, and god only know how much that might have cost them.
I dont know about you, but if that were the case, I think I would have good reason to be pissed off about that.
I read the whole thing-they decided to go.
"If you thought into it you would realize that there are a great many other things that have to be done when at a convention, not just a panel."
What are these other things? Between my degree and work I don't have the time or money to go to conventions.
You should check out hotel prices before basing your figures on you dads--If he paid that much a night for a cheap hotel then he got ripped off.
As for the ign crap--it's Mojangs game and their contracts.
this makes me very sad. its shocking how simon and louis could have had a negative effect on notch's view of them. this all reminds me a little bit of the movie Julie&Julia. :\
