Bro,it would be at least 3 months for the update with mod api.Why you may ask?Because there are thousands of mods out there, and half of them being mods that modify most of minecraft.
Aww, only bug fixes for bugs I've never heard of. I guess I can keep playing 1.2.4 until all the mods I want have updated to 1.2.5.
exactly!

Right now I'm working on a mod. it is my first mod and would appreciate some help/advice, rep., or anything really.
I'll have a link here when I'm done.
When the real 1.2.5 comes out, we wont have to repudiate our servers to play on them, will we?
You would rather that they do update, as this set of bug fixes resolves a significant issue that can crash the server software (not just the client). So if you are running a server, I'd strongly recommend that you get it updated.
I predict this will also be the last update until 1.3 comes out, which is several months away.
