If you set the average price paid for a copy of MC at $18 USD, thats 108,000,000 dollars. A HUNDRED AND EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS!
Well, not really. because we're talking ALL the minecraft codes minecraft was cheaper at one point in development.
But still, the calculation is AMAZING.
I joined only in Beta 1.5, but I still feel like I got the game before it was cool (definitely before it was THIS popular, I mean this is insane! In a good way.)

That was D3. Meaning it's the 3rd Diablo, and building on the sucess of two of the most awsome hack and slash games of all time. The ending of Diablo is still one of the best endings I've ever seen to anything. I remember screaming at the screen going "Noooooo don't!"
Good job though Mojang. It took Blizzard considerably more time, and money to produce D3. So in the long run, Minecraft will be one of the most successful games ever created. One programmer, 6 million copies. I know their has been more than one, but for the most part one programmer at any given time worked on this game. That is a lot of sales for their effort. When you consider Diablo 3 hads hundreds of people involved.
Keep in mind these are PC games too. This is not the dominate market for video games anymore.
6 million copies if anything is a crap ton of cheedar.
This picture looks absurdly similar to the picture you guys used for one of the earlier milestones. Do you add new floors for each million sales/registered users or something?

Hopefully it isn't spent on cocaine and hookers that TMZ will advertise.
