does anyone agree with me when i say they need to add stuff that is hard to obtain? now that i can get coco beans from the jungle and arrows from gravel. what is there left to gather that is actually a challenge to find? iron and diamond appear so frequently its not funny so thats easy.
Awesome update but notch if you can add actually cocoa plants that grow off of jungle trees in the next update i would really like to see actual apple trees where you pick the apples off but not destroying the leaves and more use of pumpkins. But man large biomes were one of the things i really like.

Also, it seems like there aren't any game breaking bugs this time around, which is generally a plus.

im having problems with the game not saving, is anyone else? i find it to be pretty game-breaking. never had this happen in minecraft in my 1.5 years of playing until this snapshot. And its happened twice now! Im scared to keep playing it for losing any more time. Who do we actually report this stuff to?
i am sorry for any one who likes the new local server in the minecraft game but for me i cant connect to it im sorry but can you tell notch i have a mac maby thats the problem i dont now just i need some help
So here's a weird bug, I was unable to connect to the minecraft server to log in this morning. I thought it was no big deal so I played offline. When I went in to my snapshot world I had lost every item I was carrying and got reset to my spawn point. This was after I had spent some time building after hiking a long way off. Never had that happen in single player before.
I'm really starting to miss the no server single player mode. Especially when I'm noticing multiplayer lag when eating, placing blocks, and other regular tasks I never had problems with before.
i was pissed when my items got deleted too. reverting to backup.

Were you able to log in normally at the start of the game? I had something similar happen with this new snapshot. If you don't login proper you inventory is reset and your moved back to the world spawn since they're running single player games a multiplayer servers now. Once you login proper at the game startup then you get your inventory back. Apparently single player game status is getting tied to your minecraft account now.
I belive i heard something like that with every update ;p (especially beta 1.7 ->1.8)
I am sure there will be more bugs and glitches at first but the new server system makes mutch more sense from a developers perspective and we users will benefit from it after some time of bugfixing
Yeah but those updates didn't turn single player games in to multiplayer client/server setups. I'm more inclined to agree with him for that reason. For that kind of performance you may as well skip out paying for Minecraft and go play Maniac Digger since it's the same setup that Minecraft is going now.
Single player game performance is horrible now compared to the stable release. Yeah it's a snapshot but I think a better route to go is to provide a way to export/import maps to servers if you want to share your single player game. Not turn single player in to multiplayer. Or better yet, setup a host server option in multiplayer that feeds off your single player maps while keeping single player as it is in stable.
Here's a nifty bug I just ran in to. I'm not sure if this lag, rendering or what but I'm hitting smooth stone blocks with a stone pick and they're turning in to dirt blocks. I place them back down and they stay dirt.
If I wanted to play on a server I would. This new server jar is causing glitches and some serious update lags. Building and mining is now quite a task and mostly guess work as to where you have placed the last block, not to mention the momentary 'where's the block I just mined??.. oh wait it's still there.. wtf???' And chests remaining open after I'm done? 12w19a is the worst update so far. I didnt bother with 12w18a really. MAKE THE SERVER JAR GO AWAY JEB. It is a potential hazard as stated by Nimbull. Steering boats is harder, and getting into a fight is the worst possible thing you can do.. - I smack the spider with my trusty sword, and it seems to have absolutely no effect. hmmm. Okay, smack again, and suddenly I'm nearly dead with a spider freaking out at me.. AND I have been knocked off cliffs by invisible skeletons. Respawned, went back and there the ******* is, right where he wasn't. Its not just spiders. Every creature in the world seems unaffected by the first blow. Reappearing blocks? Ugh. Minecraft has lost its appeal. I'd rather jerk off with a chainsaw than try finish my castle. I hope patience will lend us a better version with less bugs and hopefully without that silly server .jar.
I am just ranting, but hopefully I am not the only one experiencing these issues..

yayand person above me u can still play and if u dont wanna update that DONT UPADATE instead of OVERREACTING!one more thing smp only lags really if the computer is slow, so if it didnt lag b4 it shouldnt lag now

What is the complete stack dump? The actual error is above the "at XXX" lines.
