Not to complain about these prereleases, but maybe Mojang could change beta 1.9 prerelease # to 1.0 prerelease #. And it doesn't load on mine either. Just 1.9pre5 and lower. Don't know about my Macbook loading it, 'cause I can't test it right now.
I really want to fight Enderdragons, though. That seems fun! :-)
Major kudos to Notch and the gang. This is the first version of Minecraft since 1.7.3 (yes, including 1.8 and all the 1.9 Prereleases) that I have not needed OptiFine to get over 10fps on a laptop. (Of course, there is no OptiFine for 1.9pre1 and above since MCP hasn't updated for Prereleases, but that's besides the point.) Assuming the 1.9pre7/Minecraft Release Candidate 1 coming out tomorrow continues this pattern of increased performance, there's no doubt that I'll be able to play the full Minecraft 1.0 the day it comes out, rather than waiting two weeks for sp614x to update :biggrin.gif:
And the obligatory "this needs fixing": The end credits are too freaking long. I can understand that Notch wants to have a mind-poking end story, and that's fine. But for the love of Batman, at least have a skip button after the first viewing.

Oh man. Why can't you just release the final version, and not an endless stream of bugged-pre releases?
These are what you would call "candidates" for the final version of the game. These are NOT official releases and thus they are buggy and unfinished. The release date of the actual game has been stated that it is at MineCon on Friday.

First off, I thought he had said after a certain date that they would not be updating the game any further and the next thing out would be the actual game, yet here we are with yet one more pre-release.
Secondly, when the "real" game comes out, is it going to be java based as well, or will it work like other downloaded / pc games do.
Thirdly, there will obviously be a mad rush to download a copy of the game on release day and it will probably take forever just to get in line to get your download. =( (assuming if you paid ahead you might have first dibs over those who waited till release day to buy it [how will that work, exactly?], it would still take a lot of time)
OR
Are we getting personal copies of the game forwarded to us via email or something?
does anyone know what to do with the egg thing (i think its a dragon egg at least) that is spawned on top of the portal back to the overworld when you beat the ender dragon?
all i have done thus far is try and set it on fire with flint and steel which makes it do a short seemingly random teleport similar to throwing an ender eye (it also has the same weird purple effect)
The endgame is fighting the ender dragon and when you beat it it explodes with exp and creates a portal home. On top of the portal is some rock thing. Personnally I think its a dragon egg.

Interestingly enough, those who are illiterate can still play video-games!

Frankly, I like CD's, myself.
Just play, have fun!
we won't be able to ride them... ever.
but we can ride pigs?
in all honesty who would rather ride a pig instead of a dragon?

Minecraft came to THE END! :biggrin.gif:
Let's fight that dragon and look at the credits. XD
