Check out this week's Minecraft News, where David talks about this weeks' various juicy bits; the exciting single-player features of yesterday's Snapshot, an in-depth look at Mojang's AMA sessions, and more - take a look!
________
We have talked a bit about Notch's new upcoming space game, "0x10c" - a game where you wake up millions of years in the future, because of a misplaced digit! What separates the game from most other space-themed fare is the approach; the main draw of the title is undoubtedly the built-in CPU, which runs inside the game - not a facsimile of one, but an actual, functioning computer. The computer does literally whatever it is programmed to do, whether that be managing power aboard your new ship, running a game while you wait for a mining operation to finish, or anything else you can throw at it.
Yes, the player can program the computer themselves, if so inclined! What goes perfectly with an incredibly complex computer system? A wiki to cover every inch of it, that's what! Do you think you've got the technical know-how to program a CPU in Notch's latest game? If so, be sure to check out the wiki and make your expertise known! The sooner, the better - your entries may become the industry standard for players everywhere, if you're good enough. Take a look! Also, be sure to check out our 0x10c site, where we will be covering the game in detail - see you there!

Digital Diamond - Minecraft Mods - For Slackers
From "The Gamer's Cave's" Brandon comes a gem about mods, for the everyday slacker! He covers a number of different mods in a nice, compact cheese-cracker-friendly demonstration - check it out!
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.” — Albert Einstein
"Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig." — Robert Heinlein
Firstly, the screenshot is totally epic. Being able to switch between creative and survival in the same save is the most epic update Notch could release and I hope he keeps it!
Secondly, concerning the new game. This looks highly promising. I hope we get to customize our ships internally and externally, especially to make us look unique when multiplayer comes out. What I suggest, when it comes to the CPU programming in-game, is there should be a basic format and advanced format for programmers of all skill levels. Basic format would have a list of basic programming functions, and advanced would be a completely clean slate meant for advanced programmers to work on.
Question: Will we be able to build stations/bases for our ships?
Snapshot's cool, 0x10c if ****ing epic, but thegamerscave annoys me. I mean their content is great, but I get a spam message from them like once every month. (which to me is a lot)
I love the name! It seems so innocent, yet I'm sure that anyone with bad handwriting that has taken a math class can understand the implications of a misplaced digit (3x4 augmented matrices, I will eat your soul!!! )... sounds subtly funny yet incredibly possible! Not to mention a fully programmable computer!!! Definitely going on my list of Must-haves...

Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.
There is already an awesome wiki and forum created with thousands of users, not to mention Notch added them to the official site. Here are the official sites:
This is the first time i've seen a wiki come out before the game (Diablo 3 doesnt count)
I've known several wikis come out before the game. They usually are a good source of exchanging information about rumors and cataloging information released by developers. In this case, however, Notch has been spewing forth so much information about the game including two workable "releases" (one was an accidental "leak" and the other was a pretty useful emulator for the DCPU-16) that detailed information about the game is available right now including a couple of issues that are fairly controversial.
The sad thing is that this effort by Curse is sort of late to the game as the 0x10^c fan community has already established a pretty robust forum and wiki. In fact one wiki already folded up shop and merged into another one simply to keep the community from getting even more fractured as duplicated effort was considered too much work.
Curse can't say I didn't warn them that it might be an issue. An unmet need was filled by somebody else. Perhaps these effort by Curse might bear some fruit, but it would be my guess that they stay marginalized.... particularly the wiki. At this point I only see it as fracturing the community even further and making it harder to be able to address the community of 0x10^c fans. The connection to the "official Minecraft forum" might be worth some, but how much?
Ugh, good job curse, good job minecraft forums. 0x10c already has an OFFICIAL forum and wiki, you can find the link to the forum on the official 0x10 website, and the wiki links from there! This is just an attempt from curse to get more ads and subscribers in. They derped up the minecraft forums, but they are a bit late for 0x10c!

Curse PremiumAlso, I can't wait until we are able to trade with NPC villagers. That will be a lot of fun!
I said this. Two days later, my computer's motherboard melted down and I had to get a new one with Windows 8.
Irony in the first degree.

If you intend to play multiplayer.
