Hmm...I use SPC and Too Many Items, so the integrated single-player commands will probably be not as useful to me. What I currently have is fine and quick to install. I suppose this will be nice for those who don't wish to fill up their bin folder with tons of .class files.

It appears the content of the bonus chest is randomized, and the commands I seen that works on single player is /time set <varible>, 0 would work for daytime. /give <player> <itemid> <amount> <damage id> and /toggledownfall (toggles rain), and /xp <amount> <player> (I wonder why it shows <player> when its single player, It could be that they repurposed the code from the multiplayer server to put in single player.
Also I noticed the commands will work even when "Allow cheats" is toggled to off on world creation
Oh my gosh THANK YOU!!! I'm sick of having to waste wood on a pickaxe just to get enough stone for all my other tools and then having a wooden pickaxe floating around my chests, taking up space. The bonus chest is a useful addition for me..
heres a tip: when u have a wood pick,AND a stone pick, dont just put away your wooden one, either: 1. Throw it out of your window. 2.(my choice) keep using it till it breaks, and use the stone one in that to only mine iron/coal, cuz iron: cant get with wood one, coal: takes forever with wood one.
ANY WAY! I LOVE this update, the bonus chests i like because SuperFlat Survival is now possible all the time!

Hey Jon, what about Giant Mobs, like the old giant, and the spider-for-screenshot Jeb made? They could be rare, like spider jockeys. Let's see the Golems fend off those =]
Thankfully it's selectable. Though, I do like the bonus chest idea. Little bit of Terraria hitting home finally (starting equipment and all).

Well, you have two choice then:
A) Don't play it
B ) Turn the option for single player commands off

I agree, I'll never touch it.
BUT... thankfully it's optional. I assume these will be turned off by default. If it shuts up the lazy whiners, I'll happily embrace this update.
I hope we can actually get some used things back in the game, like the sponge. #1 thing I want :]
