Mojang isn't gonna call it survival if it's not that hard to survive. The focus is gonna shift to exploration, so calling it adventure mode makes more sense. I still think I want bronze ore in vanilla minecraft.

Guys survival still exists, the question was "here have been many questions regarding the future of Survival as it exists CURRENTLY - will it exist in any form after 1.8?" So there will be nothing like 1.7 in 1.8 but that doesn't mean no more survival mode. It just had major changes. I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed it was an adventure UPDATE not a new game mode.
What does he mean by survival not existing?!!!??? I LOVE survival!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would stop playing minecraft if they got rid of survival.
I certainly hope the food meter is optional, because a lot of people(including me) wouldn't like to ahve to worry about having to eat food every once and awhile, it would put too much strain on certain players.
but im still sad that there will be no more survival
