Nice. It will be great playing this new 1.8. I just dont hope the food meater becomes anoying.

They make an option to play survival, creative or adventure.

With the ambiguous nature of the answers, I don't think jumping to the conclusion that Survival is going to be axed completely is a good idea ^^;

Food meter gives more of an incentive to kill animals. I do hope you can switch it off though, could get annoying if you're just playing peaceful or something.

Aw food meter...what a pain, my inventory's almost full and I have to stuff an entire picnic into it too? Hopefully we can toggle it. I love Minecraft without hunger bars though. Too troublesome to me.

Survival is being enhanced and changed, they are not saying that it won't exist, they are saying that it wont exist as it currently is.

Im probably wrong, but from what we can see it could be a fake, "Jeb" didnt mention anything except what the Minecraft Forums already knew

the hunger bar better be fricken optional... a hunger bar in a sandbox game wtf? cmon man...

No more survival? That's why I bought the game in the first place... I like this adventure mode idea, but taking out survival completely is just madness.

I'm absolutely baffled by how many people are complaining about the hunger bar and the "survival going away" misconception. Seriously guys, read through the posts. Several people have already explained that the hunger bar will be optional and that minecraft will still play the same way (survival), there will just be so many new things added that it won't be called "survival" anymore. That's what he meant when he said that **** about survival mode. You really think they're going to change Minecraft to the point where you aren't surviving anymore? That's a ridiculous assumption.
