Some time ago, we talked about how Minecraft would not see release on the Playstation Vita; it would seem that Mojang has an exclusive deal with Microsoft for release on their platforms. Generally, an exclusive deal with a producer means that a given game can only be released on their licensed consoles - when (or if) the exclusivity of Minecraft may expand to other platforms is, at the moment, unknown.
We recently had a chance to look at some of the upcoming features of the XBLA release, such as customizable textures and skins, a rather innovative approach to multiplayer support, and the future of modding. What will the future hold for the console port? While the PC version is miles ahead of it's console sibling, it very well may be the standard by which the sandbox port is measured.

Hey now I don't think you can blame microsoft solely for this. It would have required an agreement between Microsoft and Mojang to go ahead. Mojang most likely did it for the money Microsoft offered them if they made it an exclusive deal rather than non exclusive.
Wow, lots of little cry babies. Just deal with it. And why does it matter? You have it on your PC.
I for one can't wait for it to come out so I can finally play with my friends. And I know they'll catch it up to the PC version relatively fast. So I have zero complaints about it hitting the console other than I wish they would give a release date already.
How in the world will the Xbox port become the standard on which the PC version is measured? If anything, people will look at the PC version and whine about stuff exclusive to that!
dude why do ps3 people care and it is not fare for xbox people cause we pay for live, points, and all this stuff and ps3 they mostly get every thing for free so it should be for xbox cause it is awesome and better go xbox
my steps for minecraft on Xbox
step 1#: get Xbox live account
step 2#: wait for minecraft to come out
step 3#: play the hell out of it when it comes out
Well not really a rage but I think partnering with Microsoft was a fairly bad idea. Why you may ask? Because of the word "Exclusive". Microsoft just LOVES having them, we all know this. But this now means less people would in turn have access to playing Minecraft (not everyones computer can run it to the point of it being bearable).
If Sony had partnered first I can see Minecraft then being released for the Xbox (as I honestly don't see Sony being as uptight about having a game, that is as open-ware as you can get IMO, release for another console).
Not only that but Microsoft already tried to mimic Minecraft using the Xbox Avatars. I can only see Microsoft eventually making Minecraft on the Xbox less of Mojang and more Microsoft by adding in Avatar/Xbox features.
I can see Minecraft integrating well with PS Home. Just saying.
Microsoft should change their 'exclusivity' terms only apply to home console devices, at least until a portable xbox is released, since they don't compete on the mobile market. And aren't the Android / iOS versions breking the 'exclusivity' as they don't like MC for PS Vita?
