The avatars turned out a bit dodgy after the update, since now it seems there's only one avatar instead of that and a profile picture. I don't mind the change, though I guess some people would prefer to have both.
I found it hilarious that when I tried to update my avatar, it seemed to work but then would proceed to show me, on the top bar and in my posts, a picture of a TARDIS. Is Curse secretly stalking me to try and find out my dearest passions, hmm? : P
Had to fix that by deleting the browser's cache, then everything worked fine. If anyone out there is having avatar troubles, try doing that and reloading your browser.
By the way, good job in adding Gravatar, though I won't be using, it's a dandy thing indeed. On the downside, I don't like how the interface is a bit sluggish under some configurations, whereas the previous one was much smoother. Perhaps in the future you could create a more simplified theme for the site, probably visually and functionally similar to/inspired in the old format, for us out there that like our pages smooth over sparkly.
EDIT: Oh, and of course, it would be great if you could somehow fix the IMG/formatting troubles that posts are having right now, to save some members from having to tediously revamp their overly-formatted mod threads. Not fun.

I was perfectly fine with the "buggy" old forums. In fact most of the proablems were minor. A "Revert to old" button would be great. Anyways, this new version would be great if most of the bigs were fixed, which is proabably what you are doing while im writing this. Anyways good luck fixing the forums.
For the record, I was unable to log in to the forum for a period of time after maintenence was complete. I could log in to the Curse Support Center, but whenever I tried to hit the 'sign in' button here on the forum I got errors, and when trying to navagate back to this forum from the Support Center where I logged in it still said I was not signed in and would not let me post.
Obviously this is fixed now, and I thank anyone who had a hand in sorting this out, however I mention it with the thought that there may be other users out there who are in the same position as me, and are unable to report it due to them being unable to log in and reply to this thread. I figure it's probably best to bring it to the admins' attention so that if there is anyone else out there having the same issue, perhaps their plight might be noticed and delt with for their sakes.
Also on a seperate topic, some avatars (such as my own) are no longer showing for me.
And also when entering a response in the quick reply box at the bottom of the page, the writing runs off the right hand edge of the message text box before dropping to the next line, so there are a few words that I am unable to read as I type them. This does not affect the 'more message options' reply page, nor this edit page I'm using now.
Thanks.
Rhymane, sorry for the trouble logging into the site. I was doing post upgrade maintenance and noticed your account along with a few others that were cached incorrectly in our caching server. After a quick recache it cleared out the errors.
There appears to be encoding issues. I don't know if it's a page header encoding issue or a data storage issue, up to you.
I've had private messaging with an user on the forum prior to the upgrade. The messages were in French, so you get typical French characters in there, for instance: Et ça crée même des problèmes à corriger
After the upgrade, all of these characters are replaced with unknown characters (a question mark in a black square). Therefore, the totality of the private conversation has become extremely difficult to read. I'm using the same computer with the same browser.
Wow this thread turned into a hate thread. I wasn't around long enough to appreciate all the old features on these forums, but you all have to just relax for a moment and get used to the new features. All the current complaints will probably be addressed soon.
Bug:
Once avatars are fully recached this will bug will stop appearing. If you want to fix it manually on your end you can reupload your avatar to have to automatically recache it.
Having experienced the previous forum move (the one to Curse) I can definitively say that the forum layout gets fluffier and fluffier every time, without much performance gain. I vote for a layout reversion, and if possible, a second one to the pre-Curse style. It was more compact and simpler.

Conesequently most of my posts are broken and unreadable (nested tags used for fomatting incl. line breaks, etc.).
Will this be addressed by pouring the old posts through a regex to convert the old (non-standard) BBcode to the new (slightly more standard) BB code?
Edit: Also, it is actually much faster for me, but my computer is very questionable, so this could be a fluke.
Edit^2: editing the old post appears to cause the BB code to be reparsed, however the fustrating sanitizer/fixer/autocorrection code is [violating] the formatting and content fiercely.
Tags that generate line breaks, (list, quote, etc.) are being broken outonto seperate lines, causing single implicit line breaks to become multiple paragraphs (WTF)
Quotes are being stripped of their information, or being entirely omitted.
Links not prefixed by a protocol (http://, https://) are being surpressed.
Neste-lists are being puncutated by other lists!?
... This had betternot be the same code fixya is using- when faced by simple nested lists that BS goes crazy and pumps the post full of invalid (invisible) formatting that it then tries to correct with more invalid formatting...
It seems that in the (non-live) version of the text editor rather than words 'clumping' (I don't know the proper term) together when they reach the end of the line, the letters just overflow, making it a bit more difficult to see the 'proper' format of the post. Also, it seems the formatting (new lines) of a previous post (pre update) is completely removed when editing it - I had to go through and add them all again >.>
Not sure if this one has been reported yet, but there seems to be no functional "search for threads with my own posts in them" option.
Also in this comment box that I'm currently typing in, if the text runs off the line to the right it is hidden by the background :/.
I used to go to the subscribed topics page to check for new content http://www.minecraft...&area=topicsubs ; now that link is broken. Any idea of which equivalent link would do the trick for me?
The item you're looking for can be found in the "gear" menu, in the top right corner of the page, in the grey bar. You're looking for "Content I Follow".
I honestly think this update sucks! I liked the icons on the sides of threads with lava buckets or water buckets it was way more easier to understand than this.

Retired Staffyou were were missing an img tag, and you aren't supposed to write out tags within your text (when you put ), it was looking for the closing tag for it.
So... yeah....
