If the server owner wants to share the seeds he still can..you just can't grab whenever you feel like it.
That means that people who want to share seeds, still can...if the person who created the map gives them the seed.
The only people that have a reason to "whine" about this change are the people who used to exploit it....and the people who are too much of a "lunkhead" to understand what actually changed.
Which one are you?
what if I created the world and I still dont know where to find the seed because Im new to the game and it doesnt really give you a "here is how to find your own world seed" info anywhere.

This new update is very nice! but theres something wrong because the Glowstone Lamp and the other new block are pink. I dont know why they look pink is it a bug? or what help plz
All servers I have been on in 1.2.3 other than Localhost, are laggy as heck. Hopefully Jeb will start fixing this and more people will realize that this is a problem. I guess not a lot of people that play Multiplayer post on the Forums, BTW if you are replying to me saying this please Quote me so I can find your reply,

i have to revert back to minecraft 1.1 somehow my world get destroyd when i updated to 1.2.3 all my progress was lost. but 1.1 is not that bad.. too bad im missing out on the new stuff
Just start over. imagine, with all your acquired knowledge through all the other updates, what you could build with a fresh world.
i could do that, well thats basicly what i do when i update. i some how loose 30 hours of work in that world. i hate that. so im gonna keep playing minecraft 1.1 and some how all my fresh worlds is just boring flat land with no cool mountains and 1 block deep waters.. i found the new world generation is kinda boring. so im gonna play 1.1 until i get sick of if and then minecraft get deleted and never playd again
