Lighting bugs and a few issues with the height increase but all in all, it's a nice update. I just wish zombies broke down doors much faster (at the current speed, they might as well not even do it)...And weren't limited to villages. I want my own house out in the wilds to be under siege.
Since I'm honestly not quite sure where to put 12w07b bug reports (am I the only one who finds the forum layout rather counterintuitive?), I'll toss it in here...
Bug: Time-Dependent Lighting Details: It seems that lighting from torches now depends on the time of day; I've noticed my mines in 12w07b are much brighter during the day than they are at night, even though I'm probably at least a 30 or 40 block distance from any windows, two or three floors down a spiral stairway and around a couple of other corners. Unless daylight propagates MUCH father than torchlight for some reason (I'm assuming not), then it seems like the ambient light depends on the time of day, even if there's no path to sunlight... I assume this is a bug and not deliberate. System: Win XP 32bit
Pictures:
There are pictures of the same location, at different times.
During the day:
During the night:
In other news, the way mobs can see through glass now was unexpected (quite a scare the first time a skeleton started following me back and forth on the other side of a window!) but pretty cool, and it makes more sense! Forced me to revise my building methods a bit. Looking forward to finding more of the new content!
Maybe one day...
welcome to the bamboo forest of sad pandas
Me too! is yours getting stuck at updating minecraft as well no matter what you try?
yes yes it is
On my comp it's acting like the lighting's stuck in Classic. There are two light levels: Light and Slightly Darker.
