And the lighting does look a little weird at times.. I had to remember to slide it back down to "Moody" to see the light levels change, but shadows are a bit weird around furnaces and such.
Anyone arguing their computer cant run minecraft, needs to spend a little damn money to upgrade their machine. Damn my 6 year old gaming machine still can run minecraft on low settings.
To the minecraft team, excellent work. I would like to see map generation taking advantage of the 256 height limit when the spawn issue gets cleared up. I would love too see actual mountains. :biggrin.gif:
A few friends and i were playing on a vinella server, and we found out that this update has some lighting issues. for one, cave are not dark at all, underwater is clear, and same as caves, has no darkness. and the lamps are glitchy, and do not light up the darkness at all.
Bugs Identified so far in survival mode MULTIPLAYER 12w07b;
BUG: Lighting errors with map generated torches.
Temp Fix: Break and place the torch yourself.
BUG: If you tame a wild ocelot kitten(baby)and log out, when you log back in the kitten will be in a sitting position and you will be unable to right click(order to move,)or hit it with your fists.
Temp Fix: Use a fishing rod on it, specifically the hook, it is the only thing I found that will damge the kitten and get it to move again. (Another possible fix, would be to wait around for it to become fully grown, but I did not test that theory.)
used the seed "Minecon" its different but still makes a mushroom biome! but big mushrooms no longer naturally spawn there? just small regular ones, or is this just a bug or something?
The new height is great, now all we need in creative mode is the ability to place up to ~5 blocks at one time depending on the direction you are placing them
I cant tame the ocelots that I spawn from the eggs... (???)
Spawn ocelot, move farther than 10 blocks away, get a raw fish, slowly walk toward them, don't sprint. Hold the raw fish all the while, and when they start moving toward you, STOP, immediately, then SLOWLY move your camera as slowly as they move with the crosshairs directly on them. DO NOT, make sudden movements (or rather, ANY movement. Yep, being hit by a skeleton arrow or enderman or zombie counts as a sudden / movement, so they'll run if that happens.) Once they get close enough, keep right-clicking with the raw fish. I got it to work this way with an egg.
Nope, not new at all. been there since abandoned mineshafts. It doesn't always bug out like that though, and can be a rare bug. When you see lighting errors like misplaced darkness outside on blocks, it's client-side now usually, right-clicking while near the misplaced darkness resolves it.
how you make a redstone lamp is glow stone in the middle with redstone around it, if u dont know what i mean just look it up on youtube.try this seed for a village gimmeabreakif you want to make a red stone lamp then it is, 1 glow stone in the middle with redstone around it, and if u don't know what i mean then goto YouTube hope your happy!
does anyone understand what is going on here? I get the new .jar from the snapshot, and then after I replace the regular minecraft.jar with it, and then when I try to load minecraft, I login, and it gets stuck at the very end of the Updating minecraft bar. Does anyone know what im doing wrong?
Something I thought would be interesting is if you could use dye on the red-stone light to change the color. It would give minecraft a new look because with colored lights, we can create a million more things.
Hey guys, I've been having trouble downloading the 12w07b snapshot. I click the link to download, but it says download .zip file, and won't work. I don't know what to do. Does anyone know what the problem is?

And I couldn't find any caves...
I hope you fix it up in 1.2... Good thing this is still a snapshot.

TF2 is almost 5 years older than minecraft...
