Do the changes in this update retroactively apply to existing seed\terrain\biomes\chunks\etc.? Does a new world need generation to take advantage of anything?
I'm not too happy with this update. Sure the little things are nice, but it took months to do all this?? I have a feeling Mojang isn't taking this game seriously anymore. They just want to make more money with their new game "Cobalt", work on some joke "pocket edition", and work on the game console versions. All just for more revenue for them, instead of actually making big, serious improvements to the game.
How about, if they actually care...
-add smp "safes" to help better balance item protection on servers
-fix the "hunger bar" into a more rational stamina bar, thus fixing many of the other problems, like combat etc. Instead of bandaiding the problem by tweaking mob toughness, tweaking mob HP, weapon damage, and all that stuff.
Or anything actually BIG.
Sure, I may be biased because those are my two suggestions. My point is, the current changes are not enough to justify months of waiting, and certainly not worth being called "1.1" This is more like "1.001"
grr waited ages for aether mod to be made for 1.0.0 and it only just has but now i have to wait a nother few months while they spend ages copying and pasting stuff into a blank mod for 1.1 to make it updated, oh wait that doesn't take long at all, so why do they take so long, you don't need to start from scratch JUST UPDATE IT! and servers need to update to :/
Just don't update your minecraft yet or save the jar file so you can play it when you want to later.
The only problem with updates is the fact that they release without a truly confirmed date, so things like bukkit have no time to prepare and players (including me) who update cannot connect to their favorite servers :sad.gif:
