It looks like a cat to me. Possibly a tamable cat, like wolves? Seems like a possibility because of cat people nagging for cats instead of wolves. But I'd still prefer wolves.
Hmm, well while were adding a bunch of new mob features, this one might as well be another semi-aggressive. It could just walk around, growl if your 5 blocks away, and attack if your 3 blocks away.

EDIT EDIT (Edieption 0.o): Looking at some of the other posts on the last page, it could be an interesting thing to tame. Maybe you could make a whip and have a pork chop, It would attack you, and you would have to whip it back. When its whipped it could be stunned for a second or two, giving you a chance to tame it. To prevent easily taming by spamming the whip you could need to do something like roll the whip back up, perhaps even a little energy bar action is in order (Most likely and hopefully not)
