Considering "Xmas" and "Xtian" were the standard spellings in the earliest formations and "Christmas" and "Christian" didn't become the standard until years later I fail to see why anyone feels the need to take offense at them, let alone doing so on a web forum dedicated to a video game.
I have a theory that, by the time that TIME Magazine features a trend or an item from pop culture, the popularity of that item has officially peaked and it will soon either quickly die out or else languish in mainstream monotony while the tastemakers move onto a new interest.
What I mean is that TIME magazine never "breaks" new trends, fashions or ideas — it only covers them long after they've made a cultural impact. Once something already popular is proven successful and is "safe" enough for TIME's readers, the appeal of the original article is no longer fresh — it has reached its saturation point. And then it's downhill from there: it was a fad, or else it has become a collective cultural pasttime.
Sorry, I don't mean to knock this particular honor, but it's just been my own observation with TIME Magazine over the years. It's the capstone of culture.

100x100 plots IIRC - you should have access to Creative mode and if not then there are item spawning commands. We're only putting 10 teams on a server at a time so if it's warranted we can increase the plots, but I doubt it will be. We've seen amazing things. You can submit to enter on your own but I think you'll find it's much nicer to have 5 people helping you and delegating tasks...

There is no defined theme at this time - build whatever you like! Since it's being judged by myself and some other people TBA you will want to do something truly inspiring.
Also, hi everyone! I'm Wahrheit and I am one of the project leaders for this competition. I'm the one who will be going across the servers checking to make sure everything is in proper order and I'll also be handling complaints etc. If you have any questions please contact us on our support site, the category is Minecraft Tournament Enquiries when you make the ticket. I will be responding to most of these personally. For the technically challenged you can also email [email protected]

I'm going to speak to some people about the difference between the two and see if we can't work out a bigger solution for the month-long build, but no promises for sure.
Speed will definitely be 100x100 as it is in the iSeries events.
Not that I'd think I'd be qualified to compete... at most I plan on studying the top designs and learning something. But it seems that you are missing one category: Survival creative build. A lot of people enjoy creating highly attractive structures in survival mode. Those people are being left out.

My mod: Minecraft Treevamped, a complete tree overhaul
If you helped anyone, I will +1 your post, especially if the person you helped didn't.
those would usually take way too long.
