Cool! But we need it:
Minecraft 1.5(or something like it):
A lot of bugs fixed that are found here!
Minecraft 2.0(or something like it[again]):
Features that are found here!
And Support for Language Packs(Really important )!!!
This pre-release stuff sucks really.. at least previous 1.5x,1.6x 1.7 etc updates had some time between releases such that the updates and changes included were actually worth bothering with checking out.
Also maybe about serious overtime they actually got a proper mod api started to allow for mod developers to update their mods quicker with a proper framework instead of having to rely on MCP to update aswel, then these updates wouldn't break loads of more game enhancing features everytime some official frivolous changes are made.
Whatever though pre-release = ignore.
Yea some better mod api would be nice. I would really like to see mods be installed in a similar manner to texture packs.
No. The thing is, people will never be fully happy with it. Since this game is so open, there will always be something someone wants that isn't there yet. And while mods are possible, not everyone knows how to mod or contact a modder. And some mods just are fidgety with certain copy's of the game (My copy isn't very friendly to mods...) The point is, whenever something is requested or a new thing is thought up, instead of doing what franchises like Call of Duty do, which is take all the new stuff wait for more, and then release, Minecraft is being nicer and letting you get the new things quickly, but with less bulk.
I wish people would stop complaining about pre-releases. they're just like builds for bukkit. they produce builds as they work on things so that if people want to use them to test and point out issues, they can so when official patches/recommended builds get released, they're that more stable and bug free. if you don't like that, ignore the pre-releases and just don't say anything because announcing "I'm ignoring this!" just makes you look like a putz. plus this lets you know that they're still going to work on bug fixing even after the game is released. some games don't even do that.
anyway, good news and keep up the good work.

Tact is not one of my strong points. Deal with it. -- Rock is Dead. Long Live Paper and Scissors.
lol it would be great if you all stopped complaining about FREE updates.
Minecraft being taken out of BETA doesn't mean full game. It means they know enough about it and feel there is enough content to take it out of BETA (which by the way, is essentially testing stages)
They never planned to stop making updates, and yeah there will be bugs that the 10 or so guys at mojang can't/won't find, its a big game = big chance of missed bugs.
Minecraft "Full" probably won't be around for a good year or so, and pre-releases are OPTIONAL! they do them so that people can report bugs, so when they release the next set of features to the public, it works properly.
Coming out of BETA means they have stopped testing core minecraft, they know its limitations and capabilities, now its time for more content.
Think of The Elder Scrolls games - they have BETA versions, it comes out of it, and releases, YET they still do patches, and add content via DLC. This is essentially the same thing.
END RANT.
Good to see more content is coming already!!
Keep it up Mojang :biggrin.gif:

Did my post help you out? Just take a second and click that little Green Arrow
is it just me or is the spawn count on animals really high on plains and tundra? becuase on the prerelease i always saw like 14 animals all together in tundra and plains.
mojang needs to make mods able to handle updates because is rediculous to make the modding community work double time to update and modify their files to accomidate with the updates
when this new patch officially comes out will our old servers/mods/plugins/texture packs still work? that's the only complaint i have with the pre-releases/official releases after 1.0.0.

If you don't want the update to be like the Pre-Release then don't spoil it for yourself.
Haha, it is kinda funny how people complain about free updates.
