Love all of the updates, Just one thing i don't like. The Hunger system kinda removed the pure "Survival" in it. Before it was "Oh god i'm half a heart im gonna die." Now its "Im half a heart. big deal ill just heal up in no time."
I don't think you could be farther from reality on your post there on page 1. That would be like saying "Blizzard can't get their testing straight because they keep releasing patches, hotfixes, and mini-patches for World of Warcraft, so that shows weakness on their part".
They've had their game running 7 years now. It's practically a multi-billion dollar corporation. Does it really show weakness? I don't think so, because they're still going strong.
Not advertising it or anything, just pointing out your logical fallacies.
can you people please stop doing pre-releases please ,its really annoying when your're using mods and texture packs also it totally spoils the normal release
How? Theyre completely optional to download.

I Like To Wear Shorts! They’re comfy and easy to wear!
I don't normally like downloading pre-releases because that means I would have to make a new world for the update to take effect? Is this avoidable? is there a way that I can update my pre-existing worlds?
You dont need to make a new world, only if there's a new terrain generation, even the you shouldnt need to make a new world... :smile.gif:
Those complaining about Mojang not doing their own bug-testing, think of it this way: By testing and finding bugs in pre-releases, you are contributing to the developement of minecraft.

I'm sick of pre-releases. It takes away form the excitement of the game- the anticipation for waiting for something new. Instead, we get to test lame bugs and reconfigure our .jar files (though very easy) just to check out how the grass grows.
Not only that, but its a server killer. Our 1.8.1 server basically had no frequent players because everyone wanted to focus on the pre-releases as opposed to playing a solid updated version and waiting for a final release of the version. Our server runs bukkit, and we know they don't have a habit of updating the system quickly. So it's either they give the pre-releases to bukkit BEFORE they release them, or don't do it at all.
Another thing that really burns me up is this ridiculous reformatting. ALL of the hard work we have put into a server ultimately gets crushed when we find out the current world is NOT compatible with the updates. Therefore forcing us to create a new one and remotely transfer buildings and creations over. We are currently on world 4.0 from restarting so much. It's ridiculous and unnecessary. This crap needs to be fixed.
Oh great, now we will have buggy pre releases every week.
For those saying that we don't have to download it? I would say that we do because the 1.0.0 is also buggy.
I am in favor of more solid updates that fix most common bugs and add features, not this mess.

Completely untrue, bukkit usually has a dev build out the next day if not same day and guess what, 90% of the time it works with only a few minor bugs that they again fix within hours. Don't try and throw the "but our plugins aren't supported by that dev build" Again, guess what. Most of your plugins won't break or cause a problem and will work perfectly fine, I'm an admin on a server who switched to 1.9.5 pre the day bukkit came out with a dev build for it. One plugin broke and we never had a problem after that(we run over 40 plugins including big ones like voxelsniper, WE, logblock, iconomy, chestshop and multiverse). ya we had to wipe the map but you know what we would have had to anyways when 1.0 came out if we hadnt switched then. Oh and to top it off we switched to 1.0 the second bukkit had a dev build out which was the day after release, only one plugin broke again and it wasn't even the entire plugin! (was falsebook extras). Point is, either be quiet and take the very TINY risk of messing something up(easily avoided by saving everything first) or just be quiet.
Edit: Also just to null-void your rant about maps not being compatible and having to reset them, there IS a bukkit plugin that regenerates the current map into the new version while preserving your stuff. However said plugin was incompatible with 1.9-1.9.4
why would u want to update every week if stable or not
what happened to quality over pushing versions out
fixed only double door glitch.....
really want to see everyone get severs upgraded to 1.0.0 instead of half of them at 1.8 1.9 pre 5 or so on
instead u going to have 1.0.1 pre 1 next week pre 2.........
No, its just like that game i used to play when i was little, toontown. It was finished, (or at least I'm pretty sure.) but every now and again i see comercials saying the have added new things.
Sire I inquire as I do with most, but do you mean to gloat? For is it truly such a tire to reply to the host with but a simple QUOTE?
i don't even get this.

This only recently became a bug in the official release
i hope it significantly reduces the amount of updates and fixes implemented so mods don't have to update like crazy
Really? Mine seems to have taken a sharp downturn. The reduced particle settings are nice though, don't remember seeing those before.
That is in 1.0.0
I only recall it having On/Off before. It has three settings now. On, Off, and Half.

And you obviously don't want bug-fixes either, 'cause that's what this first pre-release is, just a double door fix.
