Biome genereation is a bit weird. I found a small patch of swamp biome at the edge of a desert ocean area. There was a real swamp biome not too far. In the patch of swamp biome, there was only grass, where as the surrounding desert biome had sand. Weird D:
And to everyone complaining, the pre releases arent updated automatically into the game, so you dont have to play them. Shut the **** up and stop complaining about something that you dont need to take part in.
Exactly its just Notch tricking everyone into paying more ;). No, but seriously I think the pre-releases are cool and all but if this is what Notch considers the final game then there should not be pre-releases. I am not saying no updates, because all games update with cool new features but the pre-releases kind of show off bugs that a full game should not show off and also shows the weakness that Mojang cannot spot their bugs in testing.
World of Warcraft, you know, that giant game from one of the most accomplished gaming company out there that has been out of beta for SEVEN years, does the same thing. Every patch has an option to go to "testing servers" and play it early. Its not showing weakness or still being in beta, its the nature of any game that is going to have constant updates. I'd prefer this to the game never getting changed again.
I'm pretty sure there are plenty of "released" games that update. Be lucky you get pre-releases before a full update.
Terraria updates and is a fully released game, right?

Erm... No comment or rather short comment as I am technically replying to your message, but I feel like I will be lowering myself just by pointing out how wrong you are about your whole post.
The updates work this way:
-'x' is the number that changes
1.0.x - bug fixes
1.x.0 - new content

MineCraft offers soo many different things, some of which Mojang may not be able to spot when testing just because of the way they may play.
To be fair they also have more beta testers than more games could even dream of having, I think more than 2,000,000. Granted not all of them post on these forums, or any minecraft related forums, and not all of their reports are valid but it is a dream scenario for developers, for the most part. They were paid for effectively having people beta test their product.
I am not downloading this because the only thing that it does is fix the double doors glitch which doesn't affect me much. I also heard that it may improve fps but I can wait because my mods are more important. However I like the idea of these weekly releases and if anything major was to get added I would download the pre-release.
I hope you guys aren't stupid enough to think just because it's a full game now it DOESN'T mena it shouldn't get updates! I mean, where would MWII be if they hadn't patched the Javelin glitch? DERP, or black ops and Quickscoping, just because its a full game doesn't mean it shouldn't get updates.

that way the change that made every updates are more noticable and mysterious, and more surprising !
too old to play, too young to quit
