The Week 49 Snapshot was recently released for testing! As with prior weekly "snapshots", this must be installed over an existing minecraft.jar file in order to be tested out. What's new in this test version?
Sheep eat grass and regain their wool
Farmland is no longer destroyed by items and particles
Added multiple languages
Corrected a setTileEntity multiplayer bug
Corrected a powered rail bug
Corrected a redstone update bug
Eager to test out these new features? You can grab the snapshot client Link Removed; SMP server hosts can test these out in multiplayer as well; get the server jar Link Removed! To use these, you need to replace the jar file in the application folder and then start the game normally. Find a bug? Report them here!

I would like to give a huge THANKS to all of you who helped out translating the game, and to the Minecraft Coder Pack team for helping out with the administration of the language files. Also a big thanks to Ryan ‘Scaevolus’ Hitchman for help with the Unicode rendering.
The language files are still work in progress, so translation errors and mistakes may still exist. As stated earlier, the snapshots are in development versions of the game.
You're redirecting people to the wrong bugs page! Known bugs/latest is for release versions, you should be linking to Known bugs/latestweekly for weekly versions.
I like how he's/ they're doing these weekly snapshots of the coming update, gradually adding more and more stuff and squashing more bugs along the way. Would you rather he somewhat force the update on you (bugs included) or give you the chance to preview, so you can help make the finished product as bug-free as possible? (optional) Personally, I'm not going to preview this one, but if a future one brings something I'll really like, I'll be sure to get it.

"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
And people thought Jeb was going to be worse than Notch =D Within like three snapshots he has done, well, a lot, and he's promising to do much more, and I for one say he can deliver on his promises.
