In older worlds, generated before 1.9 Pre-release 3, the eyes may mislead you to a place where there isn't a Stronghold at all.
I went back to 1.8.1 again where the Eye Of Ender still worked and constructed a visionmark where the portal is located. Afterwards you can go back to RC2.
For me the Eye Of Ender in RC2 leads me to a spot which is about hundret meters away from the portal.

Absolutely hating most of the new sounds. Chest and doors are annoying now, the eating sound is not only obnoxious but way too loud, the damage sound is a click...WTF?...just to name a few. Also, have lily-pads always been solid? I don't remember ever being unable to walk through them before...or able to stand on them.
well, i personaly HATE every sound thats new. 1: doors, they sound like they rusted up a few years ago. 2: explosions sound to modern 3: chests, not just the sound, but the new textures, like it being tiny? NOOOO! i liked them 10,000 times better in 1.7.3 and earlier! 4: Endermen, their sounds are ok, but i hate Endermen overall! (they SUCK)some features, however, i like, such as ravines. Ravines are awesome and all, but i HATE strongholds and abandoned mine shafts, only because they give out tons of stuff! Also, i hate hunger and the addition of expirence and enchanting and potions and whut not!
P.S. Nether SUCKS, biomes SUCK, pumpkins SUCK, Glowstone is cool and all, its just REALLY expensive to get to, sheesh, Please oh PLEASE make snow worlds availvable again!
Well, well, i like the new sounds, especially the chest/door ones they add some atmosphere.
The hunger one is a bit weird, and unrealistic for me, the wound one is not as realistic than the first.
The explosion one needs to be more loud and long, perhaps adding some reverb to it ?
