Is it me or is the land generation still needing work?
Some of the land was great in 1.8 and in RC2, areas of flat land work well. Rivers are nice and this seems to continue up until they meet the mountains. The mountainous areas are just too much and seem buggy trying to create, sometimes really bad. I remember trying to play some of the popular 'epic' seeds and it was tiring. Great, unnatural formations that I can't find crap. I tried a seed of 'serenity' and it was awesome. mostly flat, some smooth areas, not epic but in a 30 minute test run, I had 4 stack of coal, 2.5 stacks of iron, and some gold and redstone in the first cave I spawned next too. There were many other caves with great resources.
And where are the towns? Seems like there is either one nearby or none to be found after walking around a great distance.
I have found a bug while i was playing around with TNT. When using a repeater hooked up to redstone to ignite the TNT the TNT wont ignite when the power goes on, however it will ignite when I turn the power off. Anyone else experiencing this bug???
Alot of new sounds, but what i liked the most is when you kill a ender dragon in the end.

What happends is you get TONS of EXP, and a teleport back is made where the dragon died. When you enter that portal, a end screen will come up, and tell you a story! :smile.gif: its amazing.
Finally minecraft has a meaning; to gather enough recources to get into the end and kill the boss. When you kill it, the game "ends"
And another thing! When you enter the End, a boss health will show up. That is the ender dragons health.
I like how no one seems to read the other posts in this thread before posting a bunch of redundant info and/or questions. That's really helpful. :dry.gif:
I'm really astounded how many players feel that Minecraft sucks now with all the new features. I mean...really? You don't have to use any of that stuff if you don't like it. As far as the sounds, I understand why anyone might have a little problem getting used to new ones, if you've played the game a lot up till now. We have had the privilege of getting to play a game throughout its development. Things will (and should, and MUST) change. That's what happens when things are in development.
In my profession, we call that 'demo tape syndrome' - if you listen to the demo version of a song too much, it gets burned into your brain, causing you to have a hard time further improving the quality of the song. It sucks!
The Enderman-sounds... After what i have read, they sound like they're horrible!
I dont dare to listen to them... i feel frightened to start Minecraft 1.0...

Well, one of the new things is, new sounds, new fishing sound, you can hear your bone get crushed when you fall, new sounds on doors,chest, eating, drinking, the bows, and arrows, i miss the charter sound, and i liked the sun round.. but there are a new sound on the creepers and tnt, but i like the old better, shadows on item is differed in the inventory, and bugs fix.. thats what i know..

DID ANYONE ELSE BUT ME NOTICE THE NEW ACHIEVMENTS!?!?!?!ALSO AXES BREAK DOWN WORKBENCHES FASTER :DRC2 is release candidate 2, it means that it's close to the final product (so gitty!)
I downloaded the jar file, put it into the bin folder, hit copy and replace. Open Minecraft.. Still on 1.8.1 with all my mods! Does anyone know how to fix this?

Why haven't they released it as 1.9 Beta so that it gets pushed to all the Beta players?
That would be a *real* test and it would find the remaining bugs really quick... while there is still time to fix them.
The Ender Pearl doesn't teleport you anymore, at least on creative mode, still didn't get one on survival.
