Microsoft consumes small independent gameing firms. Happened to Rareware and it was a tragic downward spiral for them! Don't be the next Rareware, you guys have so much promise!
i'd consider buying it if there was even one reason why it would be beneficial or there was at least a single incentive for doing so, but with next to no information on the merits of the 360 version, i'm left only with the obvious shortcomings of it. no texture packs, can't download maps, zero editing capabilities, no graphical updates, and i'd have to dust off my 360 again and sign back up for xbox live.
honestly if i were to pay a second time to play the same game on the xbox i wouldn't be buying minecraft; i'd buy fortresscraft. since i have no interest in either for the 360 though, i'll probably sit right here and play the good version.
They're basically just making it available to more people, via different consoles. There are a lot of people who still don't know about Minecraft, and by making it available for Xbox 360, all the jockeys, and what not, that only play Xbox and refuse to play any computer games (because they're afraid that it will make them a so called "computer geek"), might actually play a good, quality game, *cough* *cough* *minecraft*. Also if they make it available on the xbox 360 that means it will be introduced to new and different consumers that will also purchase the game which mean more funds for Mojang to spend that will make minecraft even better. Now, I have heard that if you have already purchased the game on PC then you will be able to get Minecraft 360 for free, I am not sure how they would do that but im also not sure if its true, we'll just have to wait and see.
So, to sum it all up...I think that Minecraft 360 is a good idea and i will most likely get it so i can play multiplayer with my friends on Xbox 360 and on PC, and even though Minecraft 360 will not have a modding function i still want to play without mods, like the way Minecraft should be played, BUT if i want to play Minecraft with mods, then i have the PC version. Plus it will be a new experience with Minecraft AND Xbox. So for all you haters out there, its still the Minecraft that we have all come to love, just on a different platform and without mods.
3,884,294 Bought the game so far (10/24 2011) He made more than 50 Million US Dollar.. - I agree with you, if he really did it only because of the money he would be just like everyone else :dry.gif:
I guess making ridiculous amounts of money is looked down upon in the Minecraft community.
One home computer w/several kids. There's already enough fighting about who's going to play MC. Being released on XBL is a win-win for me. It will free up the computer some and give the kids another way to keep playing when I kick them off the computer so I can play and do other things.
if they invested the time on PC, not on XBOX the game was even better than it is.
that would make sense...if mojang was actually working on the xbox version. mojang is only working on the code for PC. There are other teams for the other platforms. For example, Microsoft is doing all the coding for Minecraft on Xbox, but notch is just telling them what he wants in the game.

honestly if i were to pay a second time to play this kind of game on the xbox i wouldn't be buying minecraft; i'd be buying fortresscraft. when gta IV came out, i didn't buy it for the xbox, the ps3, and the pc for 150, i bought it for one system for 50 bucks the same as everyone else did. if i'm going to spend more money to play something on a seperate system, i'd sooner spend it on something different than something exactly the same.
i don't think porting this to the xbox is a dumb idea, for the players that don't game on pc it would be smart of mojang to compete with fortresscraft, but it seems beyond pointless for anyone who already has the superior pc version to buy it again at a loss of features. after all you can only play one at a time, so one of them is going to be a waste of money if you never play it.
I honestly cant wait for the 360 release, due to the fact of my computer not being able to run MC adequately enough.
I believe the game is being developed by 4j studios btw. i just hope there will be few if any differences from the pc version to the xbox version
this however wont be the case if Mojang's system optimazations during this code freeze will affect my playability on the pc
Problem with XBOX version is minecraft is a great game to play with friends or mods, you won't be able to use mods, and you have to pay for live to play with friends...
So much QQ about texture pack and Mods. So what?Vanilla is just fine. Besides that, the game and multiplayer will be easier to handle with xbox live service and C++++++

i'll stick to the version worth every penny~
you have the coolest profile pic ive ever seen! Its really cool!!
I wonder if I'll have to pay again though, notch did say we would get all further versions for free. =(
But I wouldn't mind paying again. :3
