they are releasing this on Xbox cause XBLA has an indie game support and PSN doesn't so minecraft can jump in on the band wagon and get people who don't have a great computer or no computer access at all and buy minecraft for their console. its a great way to get more people in to this game. pretty smart move on their end
I think multi-platforming is a good call for mojang.... but exclusivity with microsoft is fail.
doesn't matter to me either way... games are better on pc since you can mod them. (plus I can already play it on ps3 if I want... and mod it still.... linux ftw.)
I don't own a 360 so the answer is no (the questions should have been (1) I have a 360, yes (2) I have a 360, no (3) I don't have a 360 (4) I don't know)
But - if they do a 360 version, what they should do is cloud support for the saves, so you could move back and forth between the two platforms on the same save so SPM.
Why would I want to buy a game on xbox when I have it for PC already? Doubt xbox will have any modding support and very poor multiplayer, which is half of what is great about minecraft.
I don't know if i would get it or not, it's hard to transition from a computer based game you've been playing for awhile to another kind of device. I'm sure it'd be nice though. I'm about 40:60 and the 60% is for getting the XBox 360 version.
I already have the game, why would I bother buying another version?
Besides,
I like to play on Servers with specific plugins/mods, including some designed to "undo" a couple of the recent 1.8/1.9 changes that I absolutely hate.
I seriously doubt that the XBox would support plugins and mods... making the game worthless to me on the XBox.
BTW, in spite of that I am glad that it is coming out for the XBox and I hope that Microsoft forced Mojang into some "rules" about keeping the two releases in synch. We could use with some version stability and coherent development.
Can you please add the vote option "Yes, if for PS3"?
Please.
Why would they do that? Minecraft is an amazing game, the XBox is clearly the best gaming system, so why give support the the obsolete SONY PS3 product line? The PlayStation sucks.
I've already bought it for PC, so unless I can access it with my existing Username and Password without having to purchase it for my Xbox then I don't think I will be getting it.
If this goes anything like how the port to consoles for TF2 went, then I'm staying far away and laughing at the modless and textureless 360 players, most of which will probably be little kids who scream expletives and can't play for crap. (Not lighting up a flamewar, these kids are everywhere, even PC. PCs just have less because a decent one costs far more than a console, and their mommies likely can't pay for it.)
For those that are mad that Minecraft is going to the Xbox please keep in mind it is being developed by a different company. They're not taking anything away from the development currently being done on the PC.
I read a comment that stated Mojang was being greedy and I can't help but laugh. Mojang is a company just like any other. It needs a revenue to sustain itself and its employees. Plus they're putting Minecraft into the hands of more people and not limiting themselves to just the PC. You should be happy that the game will be given more attention because it rightfully deserves more.
As far as myself actually purchasing the 360 version I have no idea. It really will depend on how much it is, its performance, and how multiplayer looks like.
