I don't trust microsoft not to gimp the hell outta the game and then start doing micro-charges for content. I can see the marketplace looking something like this...
Minecraft 360 - $60
Ability to mine add-on pack - $40
Monsters - $20
Sheep - $20
Cows - $20
Chickens - $20
Ability to craft items add-on pack - $40
The Nether - $80
The Aethir - $80
The Ender - $80
Option to turn off Ender Grief - $80
Multiplayer Passkey - $80/server
Minecraft 360 - On MARKETPLACE will not be $60, in fact I doubt the game will be $60 even if it were brought to Disc. Try $40 and under.
all the other crap is just bull. the base game will all be there, they didn't take say FORZA and only let you race 4 levels, having to buy the rest, or like Batman and only let you do the first mission before you have to buy the rest - no, there is a full story mode, which would be the base game/items for sure, possibly even Nether and The End. Aether doesn't exist -its a mod, get it out of your head. Passkeys died a long time ago - to easy to manipulate - that's why Xbox has pay per month instead.
So your really just mad you can't add mods. Too bad? Cry more?
Fully support the 360 choice, the universal systems (cuz no 2 PCs are exactly the same) will reduce/remove complications such as lag, HOSTED DEDICATED SERVERS will ensure everyone has a great time, and the power of the xbox360 allows for the possibility of easy construction ideas, like "saving schematics" to your harddrive for personal use or easy reproduction.
You all need to think outside the world and inside the block.
DId you ever consider they got the contract with Microsoft because it was a "can't miss" opportunity for Microsoft to get more money? Minecraft is the ONLY game to EVER sell over 3 MILLION copies of the game, before it's BETA TESTING phase even ended! You know what that means? 3,000,000 Accounts, now let's think of that in $ term, 3M accounts, all interested in a game not even done, on a System that in itself crashes/freezes/lags. Remove the problems, smooth the game play, and make it universal system = MORE accounts sold. 3 million is a lot - in fact World Of Warcraft only has like 13million accounts(most of which dupe/bot/not real players) - and it's been out for YEARS, so 3million for "never officially released' is REALLY AMAZING.
Ever think that contract was to make it more widely known to "average gamers"? Average gamers don't play PC games, they PLay Consoles anymore. Bring out a Xbox 360 - that's minecraft THEMED - and it turns heads, get's a new generation of gamers interested in something they normally wouldn't know about, and makes Sony Jelous to boot.
Was probably the smartest move Mojang had, and definately the smartest Microsoft could do - getting ahold of this golden goose before Sony or Nintendo could, and putting more sales pressure on them to boot.
Why would I want to buy a game on xbox when I have it for PC already? Doubt xbox will have any modding support and very poor multiplayer, which is half of what is great about minecraft.
Because You will have to buy minecraft again. Yes indeed mojang has changed their Terms of service. BUT Notch Doesn't Want This. He is doing this because if there was a legal issue relating to pirated minecrafts and we still had our minecrafts from the testing making us liable
I don't get it. When I bought Minecraft Alpha, I could have sworn it had told me that we would get all expansions for free. If this is true and I remember correctly, why do we have to pay for the Pocket Edition and the Xbox version. Granted a couple of bucks isn't a lot to spend on this great game, but I bought Alpha with the knowledge that I was getting something extra.
um like is it buyable in cover in stores?? i hope it comes to scandianvia at first thought cus theres where sweden is and norway is. ps: i am from norway:b
I wonder how skin support will work... honestly if they could get it so you can connect to your favorite PC servers i might buy it, but other than that i wont mostly because my pc is more than capable of running it and on top of that none of my friends have consoles, so what would be the point because i mostly play minecraft with them anyway
despite the fact I don't have a 360, I can't play it anyway. Even if I did I probably wouldn't. The PC mods makes minecraft fresher and new, it won't have this on the console. Though it's sad that PS3 cannot get minecraft I'm assuming because of the lack of available ram, it cannot work. It may work for PSP2 though

Come on Notch, stay true to your word >.<
it said you would get all versions for free, which means you should get the xbox version for free unless Notch is a lying scumbag who does not honor his contracts
i will not buy it cause i liked how it was a pure computer game and now there will be x-box users saying how better x-box than any other system including computer because minceraft is coming out for it.

btw, all the expansions ARE free, those games ain't mc
I think he meant that Notch said that all updates will be free in the future for alpha buyers. What he doesn't seem to realize is that the 360 version is NOT an update...hell, if anything, it's a downgrade.
Imo, the 360 version has all of the appeal and fun-factor of a damp towel (not much unless you happen to be rather easily amused by new thi- OMG SOMETHING SHINY!!)

Thanks for the key, Stephen!
