The trees dropping apples is pretty funny, because yesterday my friend found apples in a dungeon on our server, and he FREAKED OUT. He claimed everyone's gold (which was fine because we decided to pool our resources anyways) to make it into a golden apple. He was mostly super excited because they were so rare, and now a .5% chance by breaking a leaf block... wow.
Also, a question. It says they only drop from "Normal trees, not oaks or birches. I was under the impression that there were 3 kinds of trees: Oak (which everyone thinks of as 'normal'), birch, and pine (or evergreen). So are there 4 trees now? Was it a typo? Am I just plain wrong?
bare in mind that Mojang is a pretty small company, and they can not afford hiring a large team of game testers, that's why they left the testing part to us, since we are such a big community. Basically, the more people play the game, the faster we can find bugs, and we like that, or else we will all still be playing alpha version with no update while Mojang is still working on testing and releasing the game.
I don't think people are so much bitching about the updates as they are still upset that half the bugs are still in the game from beta. Notch tweeted the last night of minecon that a bunch of the bugs were stupid things that they knew had to be fixed and the they would be fixed as soon as they got back. I have seen more tweets from him about skyrim and tf2 then about minecraft.

You aren't going to find blatant new features in a bug patch. It's awkward for even the apples to be there since that's a new thing.
And it's something people have been wanting for a good year AND WE FINALLY GOT IT.

This is kinda like one of the mods in the technic pack. The apples will drop randomly from trees. I think it's the nature overhaul. I'm not sure someone will have to look that up for me.

Guess rain counts as jumping, probably will be fixed in the official release, hopefully.

Seriously, I don't want to have to go through 10 versions of the same "pre-post-release" patch just to get the game from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1
Make farming and food like Xie's Farming and Nature overhaul. Seems better and would allow plantations of food type trees.
If you don't like it, don't download the Pre-release.
