Potions have already been confirmed for a future release - but how many can there be? Jeb had this to say about it:
"In the prerelease, there are 161 brewable unique potions. Unless we change it, there will be 2,653 with all ingredients added."
While the code for potions is already somewhat in place, there do not appear to be any plans to make them available until the 1.10 release. We do not know all 2,653 possible future combinations; however, we have compiled a brief list of some known potions and their effects. Take a look!
I made a poll about cauldron vs stand. So far people seem to thing cauldron is a better logic for brewing potion, but if both could be in that would be nice.
Cauldron for brewing and stand for aging potion.
Could Jeb be kind enough to tell us the new system of the stand or at less tell us if it's different?
edit 2: for those who would like to see the different effect. Here you go, thanks to Satharis.
Before my comment get to low. We made a poll about cauldron vs stand with over 200 votes here are the result.
Cauldron: 137
Stand: 32
Both: 68
We all hope that both can be in, cauldron use to brew and stand to age potion and gave them other effect.
Could Jeb at less tell us the mechanic of the stand?
O-o,thats liek almost over 9000!lOl,I cant wait until 1.9 comes out,but I has to get prepared, making torches because I think in 1.9 they will change all torches to lanterns which will burn forever, and tourches will have to be relit so if I make like 8000000 torches ill never have to make a lantern, and a lanterns crafting includes glowstone, which I have plenty of its just that I dont have enough to last forever and I hate going into the nether,I almost die everytime I go in it.

They never said 2653 Potions, they just said 2653 COMBNATIONS That means there could be multiple combos that make the same potion... Five bucks says one potion will have 42 ways to make it

I'm glad they postponed it to 1.10, it really shows that they're trying their best to give us the greatest gaming experiance they can.

You could always edit your previous post.

Too many items + 2653 Potions = very, very long scroll list.
Like he said, this is way too large of a potion amount. Either 1.9 is gonna be the biggest update evar, or they're goin crazy with these potions.
