i thought there was a large poll a while ago saying that nobody wanted to have minecon in Las Vegas, yet Notch did it anyway. generally if you do what YOU want, then consumers lose faith in you
I recall the poll asking what country, with USA getting more than half the votes. There was something else as well, I don;t remember what it was, but it was deffinate;y not a state poll. There shoulda been one though, multiple choice, but ultimately ending up beign in the central states for higher attendage.
If Minecraft makes enough money & gets popular enough in the USA, the convention will be in a different location every year, maybey even having more than one a year. At the same time it could be a Global Annual Convention, taking place in more than 2 places at the same time. Naturally the Mojang staff would only be able to attend one.
If you guys really really wanna go & save cash, you can always.....
*Borrow or rent an RV.
*Stay at a hostel instead of a hotel. It's ghetto, but it's only 1 night; socialize with a fellow attendee.
*Plan ahead of time to share a hotel with attending strangers or the homes of attendees who live in Vegas.
Ultimate money saver: If you live within 12 hours of LA drive, be a carpool, pick up other attendees & have them chip in for gas. When you get there, split a hotel room. The more people you pick up, the less money you pay. (In this heatwave, a full car will be a miserable trip).
That's stuff I woulda done if I still lived in Reno.
Funny how euros feel a sense of entitlement like they diserve to have the minecraft convention near them just because the game wasnt made in america. Like american & canadaian minecraft fans dont diserve it. Same euros who go on blizzard and yell at the american companys to make conventions for them.
This was still a **** move from Notch. He should just move to US, and make Minecraft US exclusive, so he can hoard more money. 99$ for tickets? What the hell, dude? Do you know how expensive it is to stay a SINGLE night in Vegas? Let's not even talk about Air tickets!

I have every right to use that image as my avatar. I support 11/9, and I laughed at it. Don't like it? Too bad. Last time I checked, I could express my opinion freely on this forum.
