There seems to be a serious lag issue. Even on minimum settings, it now gives me trouble moving. (It's basically when I move an inch 'lag'.) The issue at hand appears to have been increasing throughout the years. Where we could play the survival test, and indev with no issue, but then face trouble with alpha and beta.

PvP is like sex. When both parties are willing, it can be a very enjoyable experience. However, when one party is not, it is bound to ruin someone's day.
just as a heads up to anybody who hasn't figured it out already, if you press f5 once, it will make the game third-person. However, if you press f5 again, you will be staring directly at your character's face. To return to the regular first-person view, you press f5 again and you will return back to the norm
What Usernamenotfound said! Minesa zip? WHy isn't it a jar, HELP!
while downloading the file, just rename it from minecraft to minecraft.jar this will make the file download as an executable jar file, which can be dragged right into the proper place, and then your playing on 1.9 pre 2
WHY IS IT A ZIPPED FILE, IT SHOULD BE A .JAR FILE, WHEN I TRY TO UNZIP IT IT DOESNT WORK
It is a .Jar but you probably just associated .jars with winrar or 7zip. So just put the zipped file in your minecraft bin. Also you can unassociate it by changing your zip settings to not include .jar hope this makes sense =D
hey yesterday notch posted a new picture of the inventory for 1.9 full or 1.X full with a potion jar in the inventory so yeah you probably will with the ghast tears and spider eyes there might even be more thinks like creeper dust (small explosive).
hey in 1.9 full and 1.X full there will be potions cause yesterday jeb posted a new inventory picture and there were potion jars in it so thats wat they will probably be used for.
Hey I still can't get the game to make a new world. I was hopping 1.9.2 would be different. I hope notch knows that YOU CAN"T MAKE NEW WORLDS ON SOME COMPUTERS!!!! I think it has some thing to do with 64 bit and 32 bit.
thanks.

Its because you associated .jars with an unzipping/zipping software. Just unassociate it or "Open With" > "Javaw"
