Alright i guess i should ask. I installed the client jar to %appdata%/.minecraft/bin and renamed it. I Backed up 1.8 and when i tried to load the game it would say updating minecraft then it freezes there. what happened?

Well, I tried the new 1.9 prerelease with the minecraft.exe following your instructions and it worked fine.
No bugs to report, and I did saw the debugging window.
When I try to play it through the browser, it bombs out though.
Looks like I'll be playing through the exe for now.

Apparently, my version of windows needs a 64 bit version. Can anyone help? I really wanna play. I have 1.8 and deleted it for installation, but it works.
Bug Report: I created a new world in creative mode. My minecraft did not work in 1.8 due to the opengl problem. When I loaded the world it immediately closed minecraft as it had done in 1.8. On the Wiki, it states that minecraft 1.9 will not have any opengl problems.
well a reason might be for people to get excited for the actual release, and since after i think oct 18 they are not releasing anything else until november where it will lose beta status, theyre fixing ur damn bugs be patient.
