If this does mean 1.9 will not be officially released before minecon (released as an auto patch. Yes I know you can manually patch it in with a pre release thank you!) then that's a bit sad. :sad.gif: As it seemed 1.8 changed certain aspects to allow for functions that arrive in 1.9. As an example refer the whole animal spawning thing obviously to allow for the fact 1.9 has animal husbandry. This made it quite hard to find feathers for arrows in vanilla survival, The egg hatching doesn't help much as the chickens tend to disappear before you can reach critical mass unless you stand there waiting for every egg for a few days.
It would've been much better to release the 1.9 now then concentrate on fixing the bugs. 1.8 doesn't seem complete and probably the worst thing is those freaking enderman destroying not just our homes but much of the landscape not to mention the forests ! If the greenies found out they'd go to the top of their protest list i'm sure! For me i'm getting sick of seeing my world turned into a moonscape! :angry.gif:

P.S. I play vanilla with nil mods, I am aware you can mod things in like stopping the enderman steal blocks and spawn chickens n so forth. Nothing wrong with mods ok but it's not how the game is built is it. :cool.gif:

can i say that ive been with minecraft since INDEV and loved it even then so my favorite additions are pretty out of date considering how far back i used to play. but in all my favorite add would have to be RED-STONE

You can relax. The code freeze means that no new things can be added. As in, if I'm one of the devs and I suddenly get a great idea for a Potion of Ghast Repellant, I'll be told to put it down on page 2 because I can't start working on that until everything on page 1 is ready for release. The whole point of the freeze is to maintain focus on ironing out all of the things you're expressing concern about in your post.
And I agree with the Endermen complaint. I hate how they mess up the whole countryside. (I think the code should limit them to only being able to dig and build in fixed locations. You would come across Endermen zones much like finding villages or strongholds.)
A lot of people misunderstood this, with this code freeze they won't update until Minecon. They will continue updating after the offical release at Minecon just not until then.

This game over the...well months, has changed so much. remember when Minecraft was in alpha or classic, mementoes, and the best part is u can build with friends or duke it out.

Help eliminate the Nether army and Ender Sanctum and Fytre and Red Nox Falcon will reward you greatly.
My favourite addition has to be the Silk Touch enchantment so I can finally get ice to put water in the Nether without cheating.

Why? you will probably see them again when they start adding things to Minecraft 1.0. It will eventually become 1.1 or 1.2 in time.
