No you're thinking wrong the full version of minecraft (No longer beta) is supposed to be released at minecon. Unless they've changed its release date.
I think my favorite version was 1.7.3 it was updated enough to not contain "too many" bugs but still be true to how I thought minecraft should be. Minecraft is just turning into a blocky oblivion in my mind. All I know I'm keeping my old .jars safe I have one from every update :D!
A code freeze for Minecraft is now in effect! This assures that Minecraft will be released as a smooth, mostly (or entirely!) bug-free game.
Minecraft has gone through some amazing changes since its humble beginnings, adding tons of features and content. What have been some of your favorite additions to the game?
my favourites have got to be the ender and xp orbs. i like the nether an when it all started being able to craftn tnt
the Far Lands was my favorite bug of all video games bugs.
my favorite added features was the enderman, the enderdragons and the animal breeding, it's so cute when all the animals follow you when you have hay. also the abandon mines shafts.
you can't stop adding stuff. it would be nice to see more mod inspired ideas added to the actual game, like the mechanical systems in Better Than Wolves for example.
My Story: I started playing beta 1.3, I felt like I had no idea what to do. So I killed a cow with my hands, wandered, collected a log and some sand... Then it turned night time and I was freaking out. That night I met my enemy the Creeper (I has no idea what it was). Sense then iv learned by watching LPs and coming up with some of my new ideas which is nice. This came has come so far sense when I started to play. So i'm excited for the Full Release.

Mojang! Y U BUNDLE 1.9 WITH FULL VERSION!!!! THIS SUCKS!!! No update until the full version comes out? Come on Notch, you said there would be a 1.9 update and then you go and blow it for us. Jeez, what a waste of my time waiting for 1.9 beta.

Favorite Additions? Hmmm... Well the new lighting is awesome, biomes are starting to really get cool, and pig snouts are starting to grow on me... but honestly I don't know. What I do know, is that moving the entire flippin' orbit of the minecraft world on a whim was just not cool. I had to move my sunrise watching windows and everything!
Ever since Indev, I thought to myself, "When will this game be finished?".
Now the time has come.
All the new additions to this amazing game and having
the fun of new updates once in a while will end now.
