He wasn't saying that you can't get it to work he was saying that you don't need them.
We need a new Digital Diamonds guy. A 25-minute video? Really? Don't get me wrong, it's nice and all, but I don't think the community spotlight should go to a 25 minute video on mechanical aspects of Minecraft. Ideally, no DD video should be longer than 5 minutes.
in the video where it says only 30 of the 32 are posible he is wrong, with a piston door you can put the other 2 in place when you enter the room.
I think he means that the enchantment table won't count beyond 30 bookshelves, despite if they are placed by pistons. The amount of boosting bookshelves is therefore limited in the algorithm.

Sorry about the length guys, it is a lot of data and I think the only reason they allowed a 25 minute (nearly 26) DD/HH video is b/c there's an annotations link that they suspect you'll use unless you're truly interested in the first 20 minutes of math

I don't get why you apologize for the length... It's a lot of content plus we get a menu to pick which parts we want to watch.
b/c it's much nicer than saying "DID YOU NOT SEE THE ANNOTATIONS MENU @ 01:19, GEEZ, HAS TWITTER REALLY IMPACTED YOUR ATTENTION SPAN THAT BADLY?!?!?!" Nah, honestly, b/c I wanted it to be shorter but couldn't find a way to do it without feeling like I was rushing/speed talking
I can't stand this enchantment system. The randomness alone kills it for me. Hell, I can't believe Notch thinks Minecraft needs to be a rouge like. I hate loosing all my items if I die. And loosing an entire world? Something you've worked hard on? That's just complete $#!%. Why can't he get it through his mind?

Just don't play that mode. I think some people like the exploration and adventure side of Minecraft, which explains the Adventure Update. So play Hardcore if you want a, like the name says, hardcore difficulty level. If not, play the game on hard. Don't like enchantments? Don't use them. Just as must as I hate using gravel as a building material.

yeah, but the enchantments are there, and are supposed to be used, and I WANT to use them!! but as Darkbirth said "The randomness alone kills it"... it's extremely boring you farm 40lvls and get a sh*t/boring/'not wanted' enchantment.

Not the one you wanted, but it's not useless either. At 40+ even the efficiency tools are quite fast.
When you look at that list for the enchant you want, bring it down a level or two. Rather than Fortune III aim for Fortune II or I and so on. Really, the time saved is very much worth it. Especially when you consider that you have multiple items to enchant, taking that hit is extremely wise.

I have access to bus if I want to go to school, yet I walk. The bus is there, I can use it, but I'm not forced to use it. Of course, ultimately, (almost) everything in Minecraft is meant to be used, but never you are forced to use everything.
The randomness does suck, but enchanting is a 1.9 Pre-Release feature in Minecraft, so still in developpement, since it isn't "an official" release.

This is a "Helpful Hints" vid. I don't think it's "Digital Diamonds".

We are talking about a pre-release (beta of a beta?). I myself ain't sure if it's final at this point. I myself was critical about it at first, especially with the negative potions -- where it's until later Notch mentioned about "splash potions" -- then I started thinking the feature ain't finished. There might be more coming for the potions. Heck, after several hundreds of alphas and betas, we still don't have that in-game tutorial a lot of game reviewers requested, so perhaps there'll be more coming for beta 1.9 / the full version in general. Which is why I'm willing to go through 20+ Minecraft-less days to wait for that very special November 11th.
Disagree. Short videos suck.

Did I mention the -1 button?
But thanks for the info... May have to watch it a few more time before I fully understand.
