MrPixelTech has assembled a startlingly in-depth analysis of the enchanting system (as it exists currently in 1.9.4 PR). Covering nearly every single aspect of the enchanting system - including the most optimal ways to achieve the desired results - this video is detailed enough that a simple summary doesn't do it justice. If you ever wanted to get the most out of enchanting, this video is definitely worth the 26-minute watch - give it a look!
Now if only grinding to levels past 20 didn't take so long ._.;
I can see it already, finally leveling up enough to get a Silk Touch pickaxe, derping around near lava, and losing it right away.
I would cry.
Click the annotation for leveling your enchantment tableAgreed, I tried to cut it down as much as possible but I had a feeling a lot of people would question the math. That's why I included the annotations so you could skip around. So that the people interested in just the algorithms could watch that, and everyone else could watch the rest of it
I'll work on the wordiness in case I have to do another one like this though, thanks for the feedback
- It's randomness: the fact that I can't choose (and even worse, I not able to know) what enchant I'll get.
- The fact that even after I exaust myself to get a decent lvl 30+ enchant, I can't even fix that weapon without losing the enchant!!
One thing I did hope was that this video would shed some light on if any of the enchantment words had a meaning, but like everyone else is reporting, apparently not.
On the other hand, the details about the bookshelves, the nature of experience orbs, the chart of optimal values, and the idea of spending on the highest possible level were very helpful. It's definitely one of the most informative videos that I have seen.
This shows why levels need to be flat and the enchantment levels need to be increase to compensate. A enchantment should cost the same no matter what level you are.
We need a new Digital Diamonds guy. A 25-minute video? Really? Don't get me wrong, it's nice and all, but I don't think the community spotlight should go to a 25 minute video on mechanical aspects of Minecraft. Ideally, no DD video should be longer than 5 minutes.
in the video where it says only 30 of the 32 are posible he is wrong, with a piston door you can put the other 2 in place when you enter the room.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
i got a texture pack now, its here it changes how armor and tools look and has a few slight changes to a few blocks in terrain like making the redstone torch look more like a redstone torch then a lollipop.

I already said that many times before, but the MC Forums really needs a -1 button.

But I still hate 2 things about enchantments:
- It's randomness: the fact that I can't choose (and even worse, I not able to know) what enchant I'll get.
- The fact that even after I exaust myself to get a decent lvl 30+ enchant, I can't even fix that weapon without losing the enchant!!
