I tried entering, but it wouldn't accept me. It said that I "did not meet the age requirements". I'm 13, and the rules of the contest clearly states:
"Open to legal residents of the United States including the District of Columbia who are thirteen (13) years of age or older as of date of entry and have a valid, registered member account at Curse.com"

What happened?
What happened is we put in the wrong date for the age cutoff O_O Oops. Should be fixed now, and thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Indeed, these "premium" sweepstakes are entirely illegal. No purchase necessary to enter, so that line should be upheld, and there shouldn't be any restrictions on entry.
Read the rules, you can manually enter the contest by sending them a postal letter by mail to their office with your Name, Curse Name, Date of Birth, Address, ect. - Please, before you cry about credit cards and what not, I suggest you do a little research.
The contest is still free, just requires a bit of work if you don't have a premium membership.
I hope our international audience can forgive us but this is something we just can't bring to you guys. We still feel that our continually evolving premium membership is a great deal and part of your subscription goes to support addon/mod authors in the community, so we hope it will contribute to the growth of Minecraft in its own small way. If you have any other suggestion on how we can improve it let us know.
So if the premium subscriptions support addon/mod authors in the community, will we be seeing a banning of adf.ly in the near future? If not, then I highly doubt the above statement is true...
Entering the contest is really easy - just sign up for a Curse Premium membership
Seriously? You flippin' wish. The comment in my sig only goes so far. I'm not going to pay what little money I have for a contest I'm not likely to win.
Like hell I'm even gonna support you guys now. I hope the giveaways run you con artists dry.
Wow I'm really getting pissed off that these days contests are only for the USA what about Canada? I mean come on were almost the same country we live by the same standards i dont get why we dont just combine and call our selfs the USEh
Don't forget there seems to be a clear lack of mentioning of the fact that LEGALLY in the US you have to be able to submit to this contest without paying a dime.

@citricsquid: Uh, no. ALL of the methods of entering should be open for all, not just the stupid clunky as hell mail-in method. If not, then you are NOT abiding by the no purchase necessary to enter clause. This in itself is illegal here in the U.S.
