This will be interesting, Mojang hasn't yet gotten the copyright/trademark on Scrolls yet, so Bethesda is suing for the attempt to do so. And how the hell do they know about this? Someone over at Bethesda HQ must play Minecraft, or they're really desperate, and trolling Notch's blog for no reason. Either way, Bethesda gains negative publicity for "beating up on the little guy" and Mojang gets publicity for trolling Bethesda.
I don't care if the challenge is accepted, denied, or even serious. [Yes I know Notch says "I'm serious by the way"]

Notch is taking this as seriously as anyone should. If you're sued for using the word "Scrolls" You have a right to rub it in your opponents face, the whole point probably wasn't for the lawsuit itself, but to mock Bethesda. And by playing their own video game to settle the lawsuit is the perfect way to do it. Bethesda looks like a bunch of retards now lol.

It's funny. Mojang has stated that they wanted to release the full version of Minecraft on the same day as Skyrim, 11/11/11, but that they weren't able to because of development issues. If they were still able to release on that date, they would probably push the date now, because of this fiasco.
Bethesda is a great company for games, not for social interactions...
I'm still probably going to buy skyrim, even this can't dissuade me. (granted, I'm gland I haven't pre-ordered yet. I'm going to play minecraft for a few months before buying Skyrim, just to spite Bethesda:D)

Notch feels he has a solution to the pending lawsuit between Mojang and Bethesda - a Quake 3 tournament! He provided the following stipulations:
"Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors. We select one level, you select the other, we randomize the order. 20 minute matches, highest total frag count per team across both levels wins.
If we win, you drop the lawsuit.
If you win, we will change the name of Scrolls to something you’re fine with."
As of this writing, Bethesda has not responded to the challenge.
