Agreed, maloon. But that's a big problem with Bethesda. He harasses other companies with copyrights so he can sue them for money. I don't care whether he said "scolls" or "scrolls". Either way, he's trying to be funny, and he's just making himself seem like an idiot.
Of course, whether Mojang, Notch, Copyright Directors, or anybody else tries explaining that "Scrolls" isn't a Proper Noun, he will not care, and the Copyright Directors will not either. They all want money. MineCraft could be considered a proper Copyright name. Yet, "Scrolls" should not be legally copyrighted.
Therefore stating: Bethesda is wrong to sue Mojang for using a NON-proper noun. Whereas the Copyright Directors are also wrong for allowing "scrolls" to be copyrighted..
In my opinion: Mojang shouldn't be getting sued, and "Scrolls" shouldn't be copyrighted.
That is my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. I'm ignorant, so don't try changing it.
P.S.: I understand I alone cannot change what the outcome of this "Suing" is, and most likely, neither will this forum. But maybe some of my words will motivate Mojang to fight back, if they currently are not. And I understand if you, MaloonKey, decides to watch as the outcome of this unfolds, and try not to support Mojang. But I am not going to cower behind some big company to watch a great developing team gets sued for using a word that shouldn't be "technically copyrighted".
Come on.... Scroll is a word from the dictionary... You can't copy right that.
Minecraft does sound similar to starcraft and warcraft. You don't seem Blizzard complaining that people might think minecraft is related to blizzard...
Likewise... people wont confuse scrolls with Elder scroll just because they both have scroll in the name.
First off all, Mojang does NOT have to cease using that word, it's a word a single word can't be trademarked this is LAW. Keep it. Dumb****ing bethesda dicks Elder Scrolls sucks balls anyway.
Telerus, that's not true. Single words CAN be trademarked/copyrighted. But, they CANNOT be copyrighted if they are NOT proper nouns. Therefore, Scrolls can't be copyrighted. And Titles can be copyrighted too. Such as "The Elder Scrolls". That can be Copyrighted. But.. Mojang has done nothing of the sort for copyright infringement..
@Intellectz Yes I agree with you highly BUT I'm also not cowering and I support mojang and I'm not going for bethesda... Although I loves bethesda's games and all it's just not right that they are dealing with this that short. And notch said on "The Word of Notch" that a Sweden lawyer told him that he expects him to have the lump of cash up front before the blah blah starts. And I take that pretty harshly. The amount of money that needs to be paid is unknown at this time as it won't probably be told until the sue is lost or won and in either way this is bad... The word "Scrolls" that mojang is using has been used for about 2 months at least and nobody has said a thing about "The Elder Scrolls" In that time yet Bethesda has just shot there rockets after seeing this once. This here really makes me angered that such a great company would do such a thing. (This feels so much like political talk with some kid talk in the background!) Although bethesda is... Rather insulted or either they feel copied it is that mojang should have done deeper research and should see if certain names they use can be copyrighted.

You too have a good point, but it should be common knowledge that "Scrolls" is not a proper noun, so Mojang may have thought it was safe to use. I of course believe Bethesda is acting out of rage and the want for money.
Poor Mojang... Bethesda is such a popular and powerful company. I hope nothing bad happens to Mojang. But with so many games and the last two being GOTY, Bethesda will be hard to please. Still love Skyrim though ;D
Exactly! Just cause all the MineCraft fan boys see their favorite company being sued, they immediately hate on the other company. I love both of them, but I'm not getting flustered over this.

Any comments, MaloonKey?

Please note: Do not make stuff up. ^^; Thank you.

Bethesda is a GREAT company.
Mojang is a GREAT Company.
They WILL sort his out.
Here's my old signature. Maybe I'll make a new one at some point...
OP: "Minecraft getting sued"
Users: "AWESOME!!!"
nobutsrsly, clearly Bethesda has some Mommy issues to work out while We go ahead and play Scrolls at some point. >_>'
And also, I feel like this is already the biggest game, and it hasn't even been fully released yet. xDD
THAT's awesome.
