Freaking perfect. What the hell is next, bedsteda or whatever the f your name is, are you going to trademark the 'of' or 'the' too? I know, what about the letter 'E'?
My god, I hope the judge is smart enough to NOT agree with this, because it's basically just to get a large sum of money from Mojang.
There are over 3 million fans of minecraft, (whatever your name is), fans that don't give a **** about your games and would be happy not to buy anything from you. This is NOT a good move. Even if you get the money you'd be bankrupt the month you got it.
*RAGE LETTER SENT TO BED.. BUD.. WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS.*
They're name is all over the thread, are you seriously that lazy to look up or down while typing? I'm sure many of those 3 millions fans are also fans of Bethesda, and saying they'd be bankrupt in a month after suing is just ludicrous.
Oh I know what this is about....They found out about Mojang using the word Scroll around the time they're planing to release "Elder Scrolls: Skyrim."
Regardless of whether or not you play RPGs, you can always go to Bathesda's forums & threaten to boycott the new release if they don't stop issuing frivolous lawsuits against indie companies.
As for Mojang, I saw get a free lawyer & let Bathesda waste their money on a lawyer who can't win their case.
Bethesda is owned by ZeniMax Media. Shouldn't ZeniMax be the one we're mad at?
I was a Bethesda fan long before I started playing Minecraft, but if they want to pour money into a lawyer for a lawsuit they can't win in a legal battle that will just end up giving Minecraft more free publicity, then have at it.

If they try to sue you for "Scroll", point out they used "Scrolls" in their title. Therefore, the suing should not be legal.
If the other way around, then just rename it "Scrolls" (this is after you have been beaten in this sueing [likely not]). So, basically, if you get sued, just change it from whatever to the plural or singular version of "scroll".
If that's illegal as well, I say **** Bethesda. Goodbye.
Really bethesda??????? they own copyright to "the elder scrolls".Just because they used the word "scrolls", thats like saying anything with the word "the" in it belongs to them.

Oh they can sue you now! You used the word "the" without written consent! -gasp- Although it does sound really really stupid when put into the those kinds of terms.

He also said Scolls not Scrolls. Also guys Bethesda isn't the bad guy... (well they are sorta) They make great games and they slipped onto Notch's name for the game and got... What should I use... "Confused" as I may say it. How ever Bethesda should also consider being on "Bright side" And not go crazy with One simple word someone might get confused about. As saying Scrolls doesnt mean The Elder Scrolls in anyway unless they abbreviated The Elder Scrolls into just Scrolls. Mojang however Didn't mean for this to happen and Bethesda should of acknowledged that instead of suing. But Mojang was already asked to not use the name "Scrolls" in the new game not much similar to The Elder Scrolls. So otherwise Mojang is being sued as sadly it may be we merely can't stop it so commenting Especially on these forums wouldn't really work.
Agreed, maloon. But that's a big problem with Bethesda. He harasses other companies with copyrights so he can sue them for money. I don't care whether he said "scolls" or "scrolls". Either way, he's trying to be funny, and he's just making himself seem like an idiot.
Of course, whether Mojang, Notch, Copyright Directors, or anybody else tries explaining that "Scrolls" isn't a Proper Noun, he will not care, and the Copyright Directors will not either. They all want money. MineCraft could be considered a proper Copyright name. Yet, "Scrolls" should not be legally copyrighted.
Therefore stating: Bethesda is wrong to sue Mojang for using a NON-proper noun. Whereas the Copyright Directors are also wrong for allowing "scrolls" to be copyrighted..
In my opinion: Mojang shouldn't be getting sued, and "Scrolls" shouldn't be copyrighted.
That is my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. I'm ignorant, so don't try changing it.
P.S.: I understand I alone cannot change what the outcome of this "Suing" is, and most likely, neither will this forum. But maybe some of my words will motivate Mojang to fight back, if they currently are not. And I understand if you, MaloonKey, decides to watch as the outcome of this unfolds, and try not to support Mojang. But I am not going to cower behind some big company to watch a great developing team gets sued for using a word that shouldn't be "technically copyrighted".
Come on.... Scroll is a word from the dictionary... You can't copy right that.
Minecraft does sound similar to starcraft and warcraft. You don't seem Blizzard complaining that people might think minecraft is related to blizzard...
Likewise... people wont confuse scrolls with Elder scroll just because they both have scroll in the name.
